I was diagnosed with scabies june 11. After many derm visits and treatments of shermectoral (spelling) and perm. And 10 months of agony, mental stress, and unbelievable anxiety, im cured I believe. I also live in tx. Im a 55 yr old male. I pray that I never get this again. Why in tx. Is this being brought up from the south or is it due to climate changes. God bless anyone in this predicament. Lets find a quick way to eradicate this evil pest.

I believe it is...I've met quite a few infected families that have no idea they're infected. Claiming everything from Topical Excema to Mosquito bites. By the way...10% Sulfur works well...sold as acne cream. also bathe in sulfur soap 2-5%. Be wary of infected people...despite all that is written, I have personal eye witness proof that scabies CAN be transmitted by 3 second hugs.

I can totally relate, Scratchyanditchy. I'm on the verge of a breakdown.
I have seen probably 6 or so doctors and to tell me it's not possible to have scabies after so much treatment. Yet I have lesions all over my body, not to mention the crawling, etc. My hands are a total embarrassment they are so covered in lesions.
The infectious disease doctor I was trying to get into see reviewed my records from the previous derm visits, and he declined to see me.
I am getting to believe more and more each day that the government is behind this, or else is at least aware of it and is keeping it secret on purpose.
Gentle hugs to all who are suffering so terribly from this unseen demon.
Yes the government is behind all of it. That's why the CDC info is so obsolete. They don't really want to find a cure for scabies (AKA Morgellons)

Funny you mention whether there is an epidemic in Texas. I moved to Houston about a year and a half ago and got scabies last May---and am still trying to get rid of them. I have often wondered if climate has anything to do with prevalence. I have been to 4 derms (the first one misdiagnosed me with eczema)and they have nothing else to offer in terms of help other than the standard treatment of permethrin and maybe ivermectin--if you're lucky. They do not like prescribing it except for cases of crusted scabies. I got one prescription of it from a doc and then I couldn't get any more. I have had to get additional permethrin and also ivermectin from online sources that usuually come from Canada or the UK. The derms just feel as tough if you have used 1 or 2 tubes of perm., the scabies could not possibly be there anymore. They are clueless as to how difficult it is to rid yourself of this scourge. I have done everything suggested on this forum in terms of cleaning and cleaning products, etc. I have probably spent a couple of thousand dollars on all the paraphenalia and doctors, biopsies, meds. What it comes down to is that, after you exhaust their treatment options, you are on your own to figure it out. That is why I have decided to take matters into my own hands and get as much perm and iver as I think I need. I don't care what the consequences are. This is wreaking havoc on my entire life from being so distracted by this that I am not being as productive in my job as I should be, to it causing problems in my relationship with my husband--for obvious reasons. This is horrible--to say the least. There have been several times throughout the last 8 months where I thought I finally had this licked only to have it start up again about 4 weeks after treatment. It seems every time I think I am finally getting somewhere, it all comes back. I try not to let myself get hopeless about this in thinking that I will always be plagued by this, but it is becoming more and more difficult to stay hopeful. So, I just keep cleaing and treating and treating and cleaning. Oh and by the way, you can indeed get scabies in your scalp, ears, face. Just got some iver from a place in Canada and am starting that again as of today with the addition of perm--once again--as well.(I have probably been through about 10 tubes of perm) Right now, things are better. We'll see if it lasts. Good luck to you---seems luck is all there is. Oh and you're not crazy---I feel crawling sensation everyday mostly on my face!! But also other random places on my body. Everyone just thinks I'm being paronoid. Well, why wouldn't someone be paranoid after all these months??? But it isn't paranoia--if you feel crawling sensations, it means the mf---ers are still on you. I wish you well--and I feel for every single peron on this forum who is fighting this hideous situation.
I know exactly what your going through! I got these bastards in May also. I don't live in Texas, but I feel your pain! I have felt like I was done, to just have these Mfo's come back! It's hard to stay positive. Sometimes you feel like your back is against the wall, and trying to figure out what should I try next! I know this is completely off topic, but in Mass we are having a really bad Lyme problem here. Not sure if its because all of the crazy weather changes, there is something to be said about having a cold winter. Kills everything!! Don't give up we are going to kill these bastards!

Your doc is an idiot. Tell her scabies are highly contagious, about as un-rare as you can get, and 10% of the population has it. Its illegal to contribute towards the spread of a highly contagious disease. Tell her all that just before you sack her.

I went through this exact experience! 9 tubes of permethrin also! Borax is the only thing that worked. I put several cups of it in a bath and soaked a weeks worth of under shirts, boxers, and sox. Soaked a hat (because they seem to prefer the head and eyebrows). Soaked a pillow, and a blanket. Also soak several towels to put on a chair wherever you sit. Sprinkle the borax into your carpets, also put it in water heavily to mop floors weekly. I also bathe in it and use neosporin (cream) to spot treat. I also use an exfoliating scrubber in the bath to open the sores. Put a little rubbing alcohol in the bath to disinfect (half a cup).
I too spent hundreds and hundreds on this even lost a girlfriend to it. I'm beginning to think I'm cursed! Borax is an all natural laundry detergent that is pretty much safe. Buy 3 or 4 boxes at a time. It is cheap thank god. Permethrin causes parkinsons and is dangerous so is all the other treatment. If you do these things I mention it SHOULD go away. You have to do it for weeks. Maybe even a month. Also try hypo allergenic pillows and may need to get a plastic cover on mattress. I even sleep with hat on that was soaked just so it covers my head completely. They come out when you stop moving for a while or at night. Escpecially when you sleep. GOOD LUCK! dermatologists are no help.. I am not a doctor use this advice at your discretion.

The reason drs don't see it is cause it was a version that has no symptom s till it was full blown.but u should know this by now. The only thing I have found is lotioning in peppermint oil n, lotion repels them. all the cures I found they r building resistance to And the illegal to spread statement? Im ckg an atty cause if thats true I have one hell of a suit
