I just bought a bar of sulfur soap today, and it will part of the arsenal I'm assembling to wage scorched earth warfare on this crud.

Some folks luck out, and can rid themselves of the parasite with one product and a couple treatments, but others have spent small fortunes over a year or much longer, and are still suffering.

Although I'm fairly new to the nightmare known as a scabies diagnosis, I believe the best way to attack mites is to create an as hostile of an environment for them as possible, without harming one's self in the process.

Like most other folks here, a M.D. gave me 'script for Permethrin 5%, tossed the bill at me, and pointed me out the door.

It worked a little, then the infestation came roaring back.

After some research and experimentation, I discovered that not everything works the same for everybody, and that somethings work on some parts of my body, and don't work other places.

Example: I had crusty scabs on my scalp and the nape of my neck, almost like mange. After a week of dumping mouthwash on my head in the shower and rubbing in Tea Tree oil, it's pretty much gone. However, I also have a huge patch of bumps and burrows from my tailbone to the middle of my back; it looks like I took both barrels of a 12 gauge loaded with rock salt. Mouthwash, alcohol, and Tea Tree Oil applications haven't helped there at all.

I just got the sulfur soap today, as well as Pomada de Azufre (10% sulfer ointment,)Epsom salts, hydrogen peroxide, and MSM capsules. I'll also be taking chlorine baths (1/4 cup bleach in 40 gallons of water)and I'll do another round or two of Permethrin cream.

I'm still using the Tea Tree oil and Listerine on my scalp and back, if for no other reason than just to make my body as unsavory as possible to those wretched little bugs.

I also posted a rather extensive list of environmental steps I'm taking in a thread titled "re-infection and clothing."

I don't think we'll be successful if we just try one thing, think it doesn't work, then go on to something else; we need to pile on a whole bunch of stuff (while being careful of how drugs and/or chemicals interact)and make these nasty little parasites suffer even more than they made us suffer.

This is total war. Take no prisoners.

I definitely think you should look at Joesoef's Anti Acne soap online to help with your skin problems. It is said to be a natural volcanic sulfur soap which is not made with a chemically produced sulfur if you are worried about fake stuff. I would stay away from things out of Mexico though.

Um, sulfur is an naturally occuring element with the atomic number 16. It cannot be manufactured or "chemically produced." It can be refined from sulfides or sulfates, but that doesn't make it any better or worse than sulfurous material that came out of a volcano.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but saying one type of sulfur is better than another is like saying carbon from a forest fire is better than carbon from a camp fire.

Also no need to go out and buy expensive supplys to treat ur beds or clothes just vacuum the beds real good and wash ur clothes and bedding in hot soapy water. No u cannot get scabies from a messy house only from skin to skin contact! And its not from a dirty person

yes sulfur soap and especially sulfur cream worked very well when I applied sulfur cream directly to my scabies rash and rubbed it in I got immediate results It does not kill the eggs but with continued use success is assured, sulfur soap 10% is not as easy to use as the cream or as effective but it should work. Take a the soap a little water a face cloth work up a lather and rub it into the effected area where-ever you think the scabies are. Call your local pharmacy they should have the soap at 10% sulfur buy one go home and take a shower with the soap lots of lather and leave it on dont rinse and I think you will find a great deal of relief and good luck

I have had scabies for 3 years on and off mostly on. I have tried many things and spent alot of money. I just ordered sulfur soap and I really like sulfur cream but sulfur works 10% sulfur cream and the soap they work, they do not kill the eggs so you have to keep applying but it does work and Imo not sure there is anything else that does work ./ one thing especially in the winter cold months that is nice to have is a heat lamp infra red so that you can stay warm while going through all this crap

I have had these creatures for 8 months now.I have tryed everything, but they seem to return.I have tryed iver, perm 6 different times, diluted bleach, sulfer soap, borax soap and hydro peroxide baths, natural scabies killer from online, citrus listerine(helps alot),citrus listerine baths and lindane 2 nights ago.I thought the lindane would kill all of them but I see new spots today.I may try sulphur ointment..I also tryed neem oil with orange oil and tea tree oil baths. This is the worse thing I have ever had in my life.I'm getting sick of hosting this party with these mites. These mites are unreal.Even though diluted bleach surely can't be good for you,I would think bleach would kill about anything.I am getting stressed and frustrated with this stuff.Good luck to everyone in curing these nasty creatures. My life has been hell since I got them!

Go to the imidacloprid thread on topix, scabies forum. I found my cure that way and so did two other posters at the same time.

We all cured using advantix.

By the way, I posted my experience as RK in the house, under imidacloprid. It worked and nothing else worked for me, nothing, lindane is dangerous as hell, sulfur soap, I did full body 55 days ( scalp only at night though, have to work obviously I can't ), borax and peroxide, permethrin, eurax, cromation ( or however you spell it ), benzyl benzoate, etc.

Used the sulfer. Lotion last night. Rinsed it off after two hours cause it was making my daughter itch. Slept for 10 hours no itching. Going to try the bleach spray tonight!

I'm so sorry to here that you have had it for 3 years, what were the treatments that you used that failed? I have been using sulfur for 3 days now, the lotion i plan on doing this for 30 days, however I called the CDC and they said that cats and dogs don't get it meaning that the mites can't live on them for long. So I think that the mites burrow in their skin and can't live off their blood so they find me again. I have tried tea tree oil that doesn't work, and the permintherin, i did ivermectin but i don't think i had enough of it. i took one pill ever 5 days so it was 15 day span i took 3 pills.

Uh.. some of you have morgellons and not scabies. Scabies does not last over a year.. Morgellons is a very real disease and it it's possible it is a terrorist attack or accidentally escaped from a lab...

black specs is one of the sure signs you have morgellons.
