no. i don't believe any of the soaps are very effective because they are only superficially cleansing. which most soaps do, although antibacterial soaps are recommended. i have used sulfur soap and have not noticed a difference between that and antibacterial soaps.

at this point there is no easy cure unfortunately other than becoming an obsessive compulsive clean freak and possibly burning or bagging half your furniture/clothing.

hydrogen peroxide + borax + arm and hammer detergent in a bath and spray bottle helps but isn't a cure all.

Hi. You can buy very fine powdered sulfur and mix this with lotion and/or vaseline. and apply full body 24/7. One poster on here cured himself with this protocol. You can buy sublimed sulfur over the net. try americarx.com . they also sell sulfur soap. Also, look for pomada de azufre which is a pre-mixed sulfur.

Some posters try to get ivermectin, which works really well for the scabies mite. Ivermectin taken orally, along with a good topical, like permethrin or Benzemul has cured many on this forum.

Be very aware of your surroundings and keeping everything mite free and clean.

I have had sucess with sulfur soap, been using it for 20 days now and have not had a bite since. I soap up with it and leave on the lather and it does not smell... I also had scabies in my ear's and nose and scalp. The soap was the cure for me. After 6 months of Perm cream, and Ivermecten which did not work for me. But I also moved from my house and left everything and got a new place with only a new matress. I have not gone back to my old
place yet. I feel my enviroment was the cause of me not being able to rid my self of the bugs. The cream and Iver may have worked but if you get reinfected then they don't work....

Yes, many people on the forum have spoken of this. They are supposed to be microscopic, but apparently, some are not.

You have to move. Scabies sticks to your environment. The only true way to get rid of it is to move. When you move throw old furniture and beddings and clothings away. It will be worth it believe me.

bleach, borax, and hot water works.
you will need to get everyone in the house treated, in order for the environment to calm down.
here are some threads on borax.

I shower twice daily with sulfur soap and selsun blue. I don't develop too many bumps any more.Only 1 or 2 every now and then. I feel like it keeps them running all the time but does not kill them. I have to move soon. I stayed with my ex girl friend throughout june in her house and did not have a single bump. Soon as i started sleeping in my apt here they come. I haven't slept in my bed since april or they would be all over me. I believe they are on my leather couch and carpet. Persistant bastards.

When I had scabies I showered 3 times a day with sulfur soap. It does help temporarily. The sulfur ointments also help. To cure though, I recommend cleaning, cleaning, cleaning your environment until you are at the edge of saNity and treating you and your pets with ivermectin.

yep, I did that as well and it works but is not a cure. I mixed the sulfur powder with just some regular skin lotion and applied it constantly. It lessened the creepy crawly sensation.

I see that you are all suffering.. I know first hand that the Dr. Joesoef's 10% Natural Volcanic Sulfur soap has positively treated scabies, acne problems and eczema as well. Its also known to treat fungal infections too. This soap smells really great so its hard to recognize it as a sulfur soap since most sulfur soaps I've tried smell bad. I think its because most sulfur soaps on the market today are a chemically produced sulfur and the smell is much stronger then the Natural volcanic sulfur. Anyway I hope you all heal quickly and get results soon...

Try DE for the invironment. It has to be food grade Diatomaceous earth. Do not inhale it, can cause asthma like symptoms. It is non-poisonous and can clean up the environment pretty good.

sulfur works and the ointment you can buy them at walgreen for $99, it cured me in a month and a half, the key is you have to be patient, most people read these threads and hear of people claiming to be cured in one day of treatment, that's not true, they were healed temporarily. You have to be patient and understand that it's going to take months to cure yourself due to the eggs. once all the eggs have hatched and you continue to use the sulfur it will kill them on contact. Also buy diatamacues earth food grade, I used it around the house and helped me kill the mites in my enviroment, it's really a good product.

In the past I have avoided sulfur soap as the ones I came across had toxic ingredients. Here's one that looks good. It's from a company that doesn't use chemicals and made in the US. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the popular brand (Azzure..?) is made in Mexico. At any rate, this looks like a decent alternative to chemical-based soaps:

Sulfur seems to be working for me. Use 10% sulfur soap, leave on either 12 or 24 hours a day. go 3 or 4 days and then switch to 5-6-8 percent if needbe. Or simply use 10% but apply lotion to sensitive areas which will "water it down" to 5% or so.

Go to Wiley's scientific articles, put in Sulfur soap and you will find various studies how 80% are cured within 2 weeks.

My experience is the same as Brooks, that bs Ivermectin, Perm and BB did not work for me, despite 24 hours.

I did Iver 22 days in a row along with BB, by that time the mites had grown huge.

I am and my skin is pretty good right now using Neem leaves and Sulfur. Sulfur will burn your neck however, you need to used conditioner or skin lotion when applying to parts of the body which are sensitive.

My doctor told me, hey alot of these medical academic articles are crap. Read Progress post, something about cured or whatnot.

Progress quotes an expert saying that the skin check to see if there are any more mites is bogus. You find what you are looking for, if you are in the employ of the pharmaceuticals, your job is to not find any more mites after 2-3 applications of each drug such as Iver, Perm or BB.

No one truly eradicates it after 1-2 times, there are eggs for chris... sakes!!!! Think about this and the bs in the medical and pharmaceutical professions. Read Welty's posts.

So what happens is your own immune systems takes care of the stragglers.

But if you have that problem already such as Brooks and I, then you got to go with the slow kill, sulfur.

Read Mitey Warrior, Dr. Adam Wilberg, they are all using sulfur soap.

Oh yeah, I have tried lindane quite a bit, it kicks the hell out of your nerves wherever you apply and reapply.

It is quite dangerous too and for me, it affects my moods, its like someone took a hammer to your head, knocked you out and then you wake up and are groggy.

Go with the Sulfur soap, find one that does not smell, apply 24 hours until all mites are gone.
By the way, I am an American in HK so my experience and background is W. medicine.

Just sick of all the money making schemes, my doctor here told me about the money and politics going on. I am using Sulfur with Neem by the way, neem leaves.

Neem leaves seems to give a boost to the immune system.
