Hi everyone, I too had a nasty scabies. The pricks, itch and crawling sensation was unbearable. My GP said it was not a scabies, but common I could see the tunnels on my feet under my knees and on my palms and wrists. Horrible as its going to sound, I have managed to dig one out from my palm and placed it on the paper...it was moving..:-( But my GP would not believe me. Anyway she gave me Permithin cream for scabies and crab lice, but never mentioned there should be another application done after 7 days. After the first application I developed itch all over my body, little spots everywhere and it caused a fungal infection on my tights. I visited GP once more and she said to do second application, but accidently prescribed shampoo for head lice. I could not believe it!!! I searched the web up and down and ordered tee tree oil. Poured half a bottle in my bath and thought I am just about to die. It was a torture, feeling like someone is cutting through my skin with blade very slowly. I literally jumped out of the bath all sweaty and burned. I cried! Do not recommend this. I've eventually tried Sulphur soap and it really soothed the skin and started drying of my scars from scabies tunnels. Also bought Pure Neem Oil and that did the trick on my fungal infection. The scars and patches on my skin are ugly and horrible, but its certainly getting better and hopefully heal one day. I also washed, cleaned and all that lot. Hope I am rid of the nasty bugs and wish all of you best of luck in killing the b****es. Oh and I wouldn't recommend using any body lotions, butters or creams after shower or bath...it will prolong the healing process. You might feel dry, but just hang on there...your body needs to help itself naturally.X

I'm doing the same post scabies fungal treatment. I found this blog which was quite helpful:

I had been doing an oil treatment (clove, etc) and I was keeping the scabies off but making the yeast worse!

Get some mineral oil add neem and tea tree this will be your base after you bathe. The sulphur soap very good. Oh! Don't believe them when they say just wash clothes because they come back. Get a thirty gallon storage bin and soak everything u use soap and shampoo the carpets for about a month. I know I been dealing with family members in denial dirty living for almost 4 years. Shhh!

Scabies mites are microscopic, if you pulled one out of your skin, you do not have scabies, or if you do, you also have something else

Tea tree oil only burns where your skin is rubbed raw. It should not affect scabies infections, as they harden up your skin in bubbles where the mites lay eggs. It would however burn if you had a lice infection. Maybe you shouldnt tell your doctor what you have or dont have, as you seem to be flawed in your self diagnosis. But hey, lets all go the doctor, then tell them they are wrong, then demand the treatment for what we think is wrong with us, then complain over the internet when it doesnt work. Also if you had scabies, and you still own the same mattress, carpet, rug, car, pillow, etc, then you are going to get reifected. I did get scabies, from a hotel room in torrington, ct. I moved, sold my car, bought new clothes and furniture, and stayed in another hotel for 4 days starting from the end of the first treatment. Scabies cured after second treatment, however the fungal infection that followed, is on 2 years cant beat it . Any tips?

All members in your family, and anyone they come into physical contact with, need to be treated at the same time. Heat kills scabies mites, you can wash everything in boiling hot water, it needs 10+ min at high heat temps. If you have a laundromat nearby with gas heated dryers, blast then in there after washing on hot. They can live for 3 days off your skin, with no skin flakes to feed on (carpets, beds, pillows, cars, all hold skin cells and it is near impossible to get them all out of there, if you want to be cured, throw it all out) a handshake or shared clothes or even sitting on someones couch for 20 minutes is enough to spread the mites. Clean start is the easiest way) mayo clinic online has a lot of info about scabies you will find helpful. Use google.

You can double bag things for a week also like shoes, use heavy duty contractor bags. They hibernate in cold temps so if your house is cold, they can live longer with no food.

Why would you order tea tree oil just because your GP gave you the wrong prescription. We've had that happen a couple times since we've been married and that's just a phone call back to the doctor's office and a conversation with the nurse. It's not even bothering the doctor. Your original treatment was what you needed. Why wouldn't you stick with your GP's treatment?
