Not Positive if I have Scabies Or not

I just have red dots, and a few areas of more severe bites. I definitely feel the crawling sensation in the areas effected, especially my thighs. I applied 100% tea tree oil onto the effected areas, and I've read this brings them to the surface but I see nothing.

I'm confused as to whether or not I have scabies. The itching isn't fun, but it doesn't sound half as bad as some of you have experienced. The bites are almost un-noticable ...tiny little red dots, and then two areas that appear more infected.

Does anyone know of a sure way to find out whether or not its scabbies? The crawling sensation is bothering me. I'm only a few weeks in from when I first noticed the crawling sensation but I'm trying to treat this with as much care as possible. Been sleeping on my leather couch and I'm unsure of what I can put on it at night before going to bed that won't ruin the couch.

I'm sorry you're going thru this. I have something too and not sure if it's scabies or not either. My advice is to not freak out until you know for sure. Some peoe battle with it a long time, but don't assume that will be your case if you do have scabies. Keep a steady cleaning routine so if you do have it you can have a better grip on things. Don't worry about what people think. If they are really your friends they will accept it and help you. I think the main thing you have to donis wait 4-6 weeks and then see a good doctor. Best of luck!

The tiny red dots and crawling sensations are also symptoms of a babesia infection. Now it is known that a variety of different insects carry this infection including mites.

The only doctor you should go to see is an infectious disease specialist because other doctors don't know how to diagnose this kind of thing. Dermatologists are the worst unless you want botox. You shouldn't battle with it a long time like many people on this forum have. The mistake those people are making is that they are assuming it's scabies when it could be quite a few other things that give similar symptoms.
