You might have to take the pills orally which I believe they are called ivermectin. Because you can't use the permethrin in your eyes and I don't think it will penetrate the hair enough. What I would use for the hair is what they use for lice which is a lice shampoo. Id use the lice shampoo before and after I put the permethrin on. Hope this helps. Good luck

You need a persciption for ivermectin unless you buy it online from Canada or here in the states, you can get horse paste at a feed store.

I've had scabies for 7 yrs. Every few years, I use the cream, but it never totally goes away. Most people can get rid of it, but some can't like me. You can get rid of some of it and actually live a sort of normal life for a while, then they come back real bad again.

Yea I know what you mean its ruined 3 months of mine already and I still can't seem to shake it. I believe you do need a prescription for ivermectin but like someone said on this forum that you can buy generic from canada without prescription. I did a lot of research and you absolutely need your environment treated as well. This includes family members or people you live with, furniture, bedding and clothing, and anyone else you may have come into close contact with. You may have had a successful treatment but since your environment wasn't treated you were immedietly reinfected. Hope this helps

you can't get rid of it?? i'm terrified. i've had it for about 1 year and they've just entered my eyes. i know they are my ears, nose and mouth though. i've been researching and found different solutions. i don't have much money for the expensive stuff and i don't know where to find some of these chemicals in thailand. how did you get rid of it in your eyes? i'm in thailand. i don't speak thai and i can't afford to come home. i also don't have health insurance. i'm fucked. i just don't want to go blind. i want them gone forever. i plan to go to the doctor about my eyes today. i will boil my textiles and clean my bedding with hot water and sodium carboneate solution every day for 2 weeks, bag my things for 2 weeks. do you have advice? please help me. i want to be completley rid of them in the next month for sure. how do have lovers if you have scabies??

I don't know if they do work, but scabies are generally not known to be able to live off of a human host for more than about a few days. Generally, doctors seem to only recommend washing ones sheets and clothes, not a full-blown pest extermination process as one would do for bed bugs or other insects.

From that study, scabies would live for 24-36 hours off the host. So it might cost someone less to simply go stay in a hotel for a weekend than to call over the exterminators.

It depends on the humidity and the type of mite.

Staying in a hotel would be great for your karma, how is your karma?

So you rubbed cream on yourself and got rid of your mites and that makes you think you have something to offer here, really the people here don't need someone to figure out the incredibly simple stuff like that. You are really not aware at all.

Actually, hotel hopping is quite effective, but costly. This doesn't have anything to do with karma.

Pardon me for stating a fact that was a headline conclusion of the study that you yourself posted here. Take a deep breath, Fred.
