I found Raid Fumigator 3-packs at Home Depot. They contain 12.6% Permethrin. Package reads that one unit treats a room up to 16'x20'. Does anyone know if this product will penetrate bed mattresses or leather couches to kill scabies?

It should. Just spray and leave the room for few hours.

I won't know for a while. I set off 6 cans about about 2 weeks ago and have gone out of town for work. I have begun a routine that seems to be working.
1) Im staying in a hotel for work and my sheets and pillow cases are changed everyday
2) I purchased a hand steamer for $100 and steam my pillows, bed and clothes before use.
3) My room has two beds so I switch every 3 days.
4) Bag all clothing after use. I wash in hot water and use the Arm & Hammer w/Bleach. DONT USE THIS ON YOUR SKIN. Only for the clothes.
5) I used Permethrin cream 3 times, with four days in between applications.
6) Shower 1st thing in the am and last thing before bed. I apply neem oil about 2hrs before showering and wash my entire body, face, hair with sulfur soap.
7)After the shower I use a spray bottle with the Arm & Hammer fragrance free/water mix on my entire body. I spray everything in my hotel with the Arm & Hammer spray. Beds, shower, phone, tv remote, etc.
8) Spray my shoes, car interior

I've been doing this for almost 2 weeks and I have seen HUGE results. When I left home my body was nearly covered with these little bastards. I hundreds of bumps on my arms, legs, stomach, back, knews and elbows. The itching was voracious but has now drastically subsided. Now the itching is more like an old ant bite that is healing. The bumps are gone and all that are left are splotchy red areas were there were once bumps. I hope this means that I am healing. I would have tried anything, but it was the tips that I got from this forum that helped me feel human again.

I had a resistant strain of lice in my house for many months. I thought it was mites but until I found a sample, it went misdiagnosed for months. I used the Raid Fumigator with the perm in it and it worked great. I needed something that could get between the walls in my house because YES they were there. I also use the Cyonar/IGR mix to spray around my house now. I did it on a weekly basis and now I do it every couple of weeks. I don't go to the extent I did before but it's great stuff. We've had a lot of rain and humidity here, so it keeps those other bugs out!

I tired it two days ago. After two tubes of permetherin, three bottels of pin X and two doses of ivermectin a week apart. So far so good. I have had it for about two months. The ivermectin seemed to make it worse. I found pin X to work the best; but I had to be reinfesting myself becasue it would always come back. Wish me luck. Three days....no itch!!!

I treated my whole house with the Raid fumigators once back in February, and then in the basement once more in the beginning of April. I think they work really well to get rid of the mites and all kinds of bugs. I think we can get reinfected by our surroundings if we're not vigilant.

The first time I used it in February, I was really happy with the results. But our house had a flood in the basement in the beginning of this April when our sump pump failed, and I was afraid that it would bring the rotten things back to life with all that dampness. So I treated the whole basement again. I'm glad I did. It also got rid of those darn little centipedes that seem to come out of nowhere when it's damp and run like lightning when you go to kill them. Yecchh.

So you want to get rid of bugs?

Mixes.

Nylar igr + conquer 2oz per gallon. I'd use a pbo as well.

Suspend Sc can be added to that as well.

Most are available locally at feed stores.

Otherwise head to amazon, or do it yourself places on the internet.

Bengal concentrate is the same as conquer. Local.

Onslaught mc is at tractor supply.

Onslaught + igr will work as well. Use a pbo.

Anything with permethrin at or above 10% is going to work. 10% will need a pbo

Igr can be martins , surge, pivot, nyguard, Archer.
I'm unsure as to meteor or precor. Probably will work as well. Gentrol probably won't work.

Buy a tank gallon sprayer, spray your house. Inside of course.

The kicker to anything you spray... USE DISTILLED WATER ONLY TO MIX AND SPRAY.

For personal use, dawn dish soap. Original. Lice shampoo, denorex, lye soap, vicks vaporub, witch hazel. There are many things that will work. Just be careful.

If bed bugs are the issue, Phantom is the only way to go.

PLEASE HELP!!!

My boyfriend and I have been suffering with scabies since at least March and more likely since before the first of the year. We've treated with permethrin twice but never had enuf of it to cover us really good plus we probably didn't cover all the bases as well as we now know how to. We purchased 10% permethrin and ivermectin from amazon and plan to begin treatment this weekend. Our plan is as follows;

We bagging up all the clothing we plan to wear...as well anything else we plan on using over that following week, such as our laptop, etc....today or tomorrow. We'll place it in a car we already bombed with Raid Fumigator, where it will sit for the rest of the week. On Saturday afternoon we'll bomb our second car and then take a cab to a hotel. That evening we'll start treatment with both iver and perm. The following day we'll cab back to our apartment parking lot, pick up the car with our clothing, etc., and drive it to another hotel, where we're staying for the next 5 nights. BEFORE all of this I will dip and treat both of my cats. We've created a warm and cozy area for them out on the balcony with access into an enclosed and carpeted storage closet where they will spend the week. We'll bomb the rest of the apt. With Raid Fumugator as we leave here on Saturday. We hope to return to a bug free apartment. We will repeat Iver. And Perm. treatment at least two more times - but probably three more - each spaced about a week apart.

As you can imagine, this has already cost us - and is going to cost us - a small fortune! We are both unemployed and I'm disabled, so I thank god our families are helping! I hope we covered all our bases. If anyone can spot a flaw in my plan, could you PLEASE post here or email me at:

Thank you all so much!!!

Jeepers. You sound like you really know what your doing but probably was hard for last poster and myself to understand as not simplified enough and yes I went to college but still had a hard time understanding your post. What is pbo ? You rattle off a bunch of chemicals but don't say exactly how much to use and to what(suspend SC ?)Does one add distilled water this any of this and if so how much? Can these chemicals which most posters, since we are not farmers, know nothing about be purchased in small amounts. You say use Onslaught mc and igr but once again no measurements are given and do you add water or how much? We are all suffering and desperate but although your post has alot of great information on chemicals the lack of how much to use and so forth make all that info useless to the majority of us who have never stepped foot in a feed or tractor store. Please simplify things and use exact measurements and more detailed recipe combination amounts and chemical names.Abbreviations don't help. Thanks
