I'm wondering if anyone has experienced my issue. I no longer have scabies, confirmed by dermatologist, but like others kept thinking I was getting reinfested because I would get red nodule bumps on my genitals, head of penis and scrotum, not on shaft.
When the nodules would clear I felt comfortable to have intercourse with my partner and within two days the nodules would reappear and I would think I was reinfested. And treat again.
After seeing dermatologist three weeks ago and got the all clear and he explained what I was getting was post scabies nodules, and to use topical if dots reappeared. Well after 4 weeks of no nodules ventured into that arena again and bang nodules reappeared. I'm assuming the friction with intercourse is causing the reoccurance. I've decided that I will start using condoms for a while to take away the friction aspect and see if that works.
My question for anyone, males, does anyone else experience this issue when after intercourse and what timeframe did it end??

i have the sameee problem now and it really sucks and makes me really self conscious. It's been maybe a week since treatment and they haven't gone away

I have had the exact same problem for around 2 months. I thought it was just post-scabies skin problems, and yet still has not gone away. Every time, even with a condom, it seems like it would cause them to come back. I'm sorry I cannot offer you any good information though -- I'm in the same boat!

My girlfriend had scabies with me originally (thank God she was able to use a treatment for it riight as she got it, and it went away completely and has not come back) and has had absolutely no problems after she treated the first time. Maybe those of us who had it longer tend to remain having skin problems longer?(I also have a few rather big bumps that haven't changed in several months, even though I've gained no new bumps since I successfully treated and I've seen like 95% reduction in overall bumps).

So friction? I wonder if my watchband is causing friction on my wrist? It's metal, so I can use alchol on it, so no mites on it. I think I'm in post, but then I'll start to wonder about a new bump, top side of wrist, furred side, and then I think further, that it's a new bump and that I never had one just there, etc. My post tips are these three suggestions: use Nizoral shampoo as a body wash in case it's a fungal complication. Or try some Monistat? OTC. It couldn't hurt. It's made for sensitive female parts, so it won't sting. Maybe your girlfriend has some mild yeast and I've read that you are sensitive to yeast, fungi, bacteria for a while in post on any part of your body. Yogurt helps to repopulate the good bacteria on your skin and combats yeast, maybe try this cheaper suggestion before the Monistat. Women often have a little bit of yeast and it could be enough to affect you without affecting her. Try a little container of yougurt, plain unflavored yougurt with live cultures and apply to the spots or areas on yourself. I think it's helped me a lot since I think I'm in post and to stop treating spots. Let it warm up, and rinse in the A.M.(Get the full fat yogurt for this sensitive area, the non-fat might feel pretty drying) It will dry up a little, rinse off when you feel you want to or A.M. It has helped me with a lot of my post bumps, but I will admit, not in that location. We get rid of the healthy acid mantle and healthy skin bacteria when we treat and yogurt feels pretty good on spots. P.S. Greenway, sometimes one treatment is not enough of Perm, two times is the charm, yours may not be post this early it's possible that it's still mites. Jump on that if that is the case with you. Get your Doc to call you in a refill if needed. They should give you one without a second appointment, just talk to the office nurse.

you are all never going to get rid of it. I have had it for 3 years, it never goes away because people around you have also got it but do not now or do not admit to having it, there is a stigma attatched to scabies. I have put cream on about 40 times and still I have got it, sometimes the rash is under my arms, sometimes at the top of my legs and sometimes I get 2 ar 3 dots here and there, how it presents changes. We will never be free of it until the medical profesion stop looking for classic signs and it is out in the open and talked about, you here about nits all the time, on the tv and in mags but you never here about scabies so people are freeked out by it and do not talk about it cause they think it is dirty. I feel very guilty cause I have infected many people but what can I do? I cannot stay home forever

Welty: I have a question. I am taking probiotics in tablet form, which helps replace the good bacteria killed off by ivermectin. Will that help replace the good bacteria on my skin? or would I have to apply a lotion probiotic/or yogurt?

Scabies actually is very hard to transfer to anyone else. I have a very close-knit group of 8+ friends whom I hung around for several hours every day for over three months while I had scabies, and ONLY my girlfriend got it (read: naked bodies on top of each other). I shook hands, patted them on the back, sat all over their stuff, used their towels, etc, while I had scabies, FOR THREE MONTHS. Not one of them got it (and believe me, they'd be the first to tell me, probably with a punch, if they did have the first sign of any minute itching). This is completely consistent with all known info about scabies, and post-scabies is a very well-document problem of various skin complications, from secondary infection to excessive inflammation. It is not scabies -- believe it or not, but permethrin is very effective as long as you use it right. So no, you're wrong, and until you start being scientific and less paranoid you aren't going to help anyone.

Hi Itty, I think applying the yogurt directly to the skin is very good and it stops fungus and itching both and supplies that topical good bacteria. Note: new posters, I totally believe in prescription meds, this is just for post. P.S. The internal probiotics helps because Iver also tends to wipe out the stomach bacteria like antibiotics do as I read on a rabbit website, too. Even if Iver is applied topically, it is excreted in the dung of animals, so it does use the intestines and depletes them. I just spot treat mostly about once a week now or as needed on spots and rinse in the a.m. I like the non fat, as I like the dry feeling. And I've hated all the moisturizers especially when it's hot outside. How are you feeling? How is your dog?

Dee, it sounds like you are sleeping with people and don't even know or care if you give it to them, and you probably got it back once or twice yourself. It's probably not even the same infection anymore. Hope you tell people, because this stuff can ruin a life.

What about my dog? Can I give her probiotic tabs, because she is getting ivermectin, too.... where do you get your yogurt from? from the grocery store or health food store?

Guess what happened.... I always mess around with my mite stuff when I go to sleep. And I sprayed some of the Nature's Guardian (made by Sergeants) on my hand, where I was feeling activity, itching, tingling and so forth on the palm of my hand. So, I sprayed a good amount and then got out my 60 times magnification pocketscope to get a looksie. A couple of things I discovered was: my mites are super tiny. no wonder I can't see them. They are much smaller than a piece of dirt or debris (the big black specs). They were moving around trying to get away from that scented oil spray. It contains stuff like peppermint oil, thyme oil, clove oil, etc. Smells really good. Anyway, I did this for 2 nights in a row and was able to see like 5 or 6 different mites move around, trying to get away from that spray. I kept the scope on them and saw that they eventually died. But I saw them struggle. I have now realized that canine sarcoptic mites are much smaller than I ever realized.

Both me and the dog still have mites (the story of my life). She was just spayed on Tuesday, so she is recovering nicely.

I am only 16 years old and i have the same problem. I got scabies from a girl just under a year ago and i went through all the scabies treatment until it finally went away. 2 months after a reoccurring rash appeared which made me believe that i wasn't even originally given scabies and maybe something more extreme. I went to the doctor and he told me that i show no signs of herpes or any other skin warts. He told me that it could just be a rash from friction like you say. I am very self conscious about this and even though i am not sexually active i really need to know the best way to get rid of "Post Scabies Nodules" thank you.

let me ask you something...if you saw mites crawling around on your hand..WHY didn't you wash and scrub them off?

and how can you be crawling with mites when you have more scabicides and avermectins than Baer Pham and PetsMart?

are you actually asking me questions here, or are you trying to make a point about something? do you really want me to answer this question? It sounds very argumentative and accusatory towards me. I have discussed some things about your sister, Iso, went into detail with my answer, and you basically brushed my answer to you aside and went on and didn't answer any of my questions to you. I could go into detail and answer this, but I think you are just trying to fuck with me like you always do, you skinny ass bitch.

Oh, Hi, Mite Killer. I was using the spray to see if I could actually get something to come up out of my hand, so, for once, I could actually see them MOVE. In the past two years, I have not been able to SEE THEM MOVE, or actually tell which are the mites. It was a breakthrough. I now know their size. That particular spray will kill them, too.

Regarding your other question, if I knew why I still have mites after all I have been through, I would be in good shape, wouldn't I?

May I ask why you are still here on this forum, you dickhead?

Mite Killer. this is the reason that people don't open up with their progress. Because you take that information and turn it into something negative. You do it all the time. Big deep sigh.

Hey young man- sorry no one here has answered your question , might be that no has an answer and not too many people
are posting here today. So....your doctor didn't give you any answers?
Well, maybe try some loose clothes, like lose the whitey tightys and switch to boxers and keep yourself dry , like use powder or something.
Have you tried like aloe vera gel or hydrocortisone cream? Gold bond powder, sometimes guys and gals can get like yeast rashes , heat rashes,
that kind of thing. Maybe you'll get some help with this , in the next day or two from someone that has dealt with this. Check in later. OK....good luck. A.C.

scabies has been cured. Just a thought. Hey guys step up-

Did it ever occur to you that I didn't see your post?

Yes, I was asking you a question. How can you watch mites crawl on you and not wash them off? And I just don't understand how you can have so many mites considering how much treating you do. Most people at least get better with treatments. My post had no intent to set you off but it's pretty easy to set you off though. Remember I've seen your posts over the past 2 years and you've gone off on other posters too.

You've got a real potty mouth and I'm tired of seeing you call me nasty names and accusing me of keeping poster from posting. If anything you would be the one to drive me off with your insults. But I don't give a rats ass what you say. I have every right to post here and you have no right to ask me why I'm still posting. I'll post or not post, it's all up to me.

If you want to be civil I'm for that. I believe in love, peace and happyness.

We don't need to see mites to know their size. It's all in literature and photos. Glad the spray worked and I've got to hand it to you for letting mites stay on you and hang out on you while you watched them die.

Mary, let go of the hate, it will only hurt you.
