Lindane lotion in anything non-prescription?

Hi, All. I've been battling The Mite From Hell since last August (probably before then, too, but didn't know). I've used Ivermectin horsepaste 1.87% and perm 5% cream. They've helped, but not enough, I'm thinking. I think I still have have hatching going on. Have not had any bites from my environment lately, so it's still in my skin, I guess. I think my mites are resistant to perm cream. I do have Advantix II for large dogs, which is stronger than the 5% perm, but have not used it yet, diluted or otherwise--afraid that I'll find out it won't work. I would like to try Lindane lotion because I hear it kills the eggss, too, but my dermatologist docs won't prescribe it. According to them, all my new bumps and itches are not the mite, and I've been cured! Uh-huh. We've all heard it before.

Anyway, Is there anything I can buy that has Lindane in it, or a reasonable facsimile? I did order some "gamma benzene hexachloride 1%" (supposedly its old chemical name) shampoo on eBay, but it's coming from Thailand and is taking forever. Can I use it on my body, too? What else can I buy? Someone please help. I really appreciate anyone's help. I'm very depressed over this and am trying to get used to coping with this thing for the rest of my life.

If you can find some older "Rose Petal Dust", look on the ingredients, and see if it's Lindane. If it is, mix it with some Jergan's lotion, and use it. My father is a Pharmacist, and, in the old days, when they had to mix a lot of things up in the drug store, that's all they did, was get rose petal dust from a hardware store, and mix it up with lotion. Nowadays, there are different types of rose petal dust, so you'll have to really look around. Maybe you'll find it in an older hardware or feed and seed store. Mix it, where 3% is Lindane. That'd be about 1/2oz of dust to a pint of lotion. That's as strong as you'll find the prescription stuff. It works great on Chiggers (aka: Red Bugs) too. Great to have with you, if you go camping or work outdoors, in the woods. I remember a guy who'd gone to every Dermatologist, he could find, and couldn't get relief. After 3 years of suffering, he wandered into my father's store. Someone told him, that sometimes, an older Pharmacist, can diagnose unusual things. My dad, identified his affliction as Scabies, and referred him to the county health department. The county health nurse, gave him some Lindane Lotion, and it game him immediate relief. In modern times, a Dermatologist, might not ever have a patient that has Scabies or other parasitic mites, so can't identify them, but a county health nurse, might see them all the time, since she may have many patients, who live in areas, more prone to different kinds of lice.

Thanks, Joe. I've already started checking around, but can't find anything yet like the older lindane-type dust. I do remember using rose dust for years on my flower bushes outside until it got hard to find in stores. I don't think I have The Bug From Hell anymore (knock on wood lol), but I'm paranoid now and want to have something on hand if and when I might need it again. It's good to know. I appreciate your suggestion. Hopefully YOU don't ever have to use something like this anymore!!

"Worn Out.."

How did the bugs go away? Is it something you did? I am in the same predicament right now - trying to get Lindane lotion. The Bug from Hell is indeed hellish.
