Okay, my eyes are going blurry from all the reading and questions I have been asking..I believe I have a mite from my cat or pet..Not sure but everyone keeps talking about Ivermectin working for them...Is this something that is taken orally and you need a rx for?

Vizio, the rx for ivermectin is called stromectol, but can be a bit pricey. If you are courageous enough to take horse medication, you can get ivermectin horse paste at your local feed store. The stromectol is reportedly a bit more potent, but many people on this forum have had good luck with the horse paste. If you choose to go the horse paste route...make sure you get the apple flavored horse paste 1.87% by Durvet, there are other brands which are mixed with dewormers.

It can be difficult to get some doctors to prescribe the Stromectol as well. If you want to get stromectol, it is a good idea to print out as much information as possible about ivermectin and stromectol being the best treatment for scabies, or they may not listen to you.

If you go with the horse paste, it will come in a plunger, premarked with the amount of pounds you wish to administer. This weight measurement is the same as for human dosage, but is only in 50 pound increments. Luckily, it is extremely difficult to overdose on ivermectin, and the most common side effect is a slight headache. The horse paste runs around $7 for a plunger that will treat a 1500 pound horse.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

you are very welcome..I forgot to mention that you take the stromectol by tablet (orally) and the horse paste you mix with a few ounces of water and drink. I am not an expert on the pet end of it, so you really need to talk to some of the people here who have used it on their pets as far as safety to different animals is concerned. I know there are a few people using injectible ivermectin on their pets...

The ivermectin horse paste can also be mixed with water and put into a spray bottle to help heal trouble spots on your skin. There is a thread here called fun with ivermectin for more info on the spraying ivermectin subject.

I take the horse paste straight. It is a gel with no real taste but slight apple flavor. The dispenser is similar to a shot needle and very practical for ease of use and reusage. I am thinking about trying to find the pure form of stromectrol or may try higher than recommended doses of the horse paste since the recommended doses do not seem very potent.

I can recommend a reputable pharmacy (Ivermectin)- drugstock.net/order-stromectol-buy-en.html/... I received the order and it was on time and the pills work great.

don't use magicpharma they suck, the best quality and quickest delivery i experienced during my 6 months of scabies for ivermectin is at www.drugmonster.com
i was only able to beat it after combining ivermectin at 300mc/kg and neem capsules and used cold pressed neem seed oil diluted with sweet almond oil (2pt's almond-1pt neem). i got the neem capules at my health food store and the cold pressed neem oil on ebay. you take the neem for a week and rub the oil all over you then take the iver 2 times at five days apart while continuing the neem therapy

You need a prescription for it and it is given based upon your body weight and typically given to people with more advanced cases of scabies. Pets usually have mange but can be a carrier of scabies but scabies prefers humans.
