How does Ivermectin work exactly?

This describes why it kills bugs but is safe for most mammals and reptiles. It circulates in the blood & I may have read that it collects in fatty tissue, but that was 300 pages ago & may be complete BS.

Just curious. How come you had scabies about 2 years without knowing it. Didn't you get bumps and itching?

is the (1.87% Ivermectin)the same strength per milligram as used on the human dose chart?

I'm ordering (1.87% Ivermectin) horse paste. It is a single dose for a horse 1250lb so I'll divide it into 4 equal doses for me (my wt 285 lbs), BUT my question is .... is the 1.87% the right strength for SCABIES? This 1.87% might be ok for intestinal worms, but is it strong enough for Scabies?

Yes, BUT do you know what the dosage is for ivermectin for a human to treat ecto parasites? This is a key question. The conversative dosage is 200 micrograms per kilo of body weight. The vets are going stronger because of the resistant strain of mites out there. They are dosing at 300 micrograms per kilogram of body weight.
The 1.87% of ivermectin horse paste is all calculated at 200 micrograms per kilo of body weight for ecto parasites. Everything is already done for the horse owner. All they have to do is dose the horse with it, and keep track of the time between doses. This is all done based on weight.
Watch the video on this link of the vet treating the rabbit. He is dosing at 400 micrograms per kilo of body weight.

I finally broke down and did ivermectin yesterday. Stuff made my head feel weird and I did have a heart palpitation, but only once. Do I need to treat again in 7 days? I took it on an empty stomach. I have fatty liver so I am thinking it may have worked extra strong because of the fat content. Husband and I took 6 pills of stromectrol each. Do we repeat in 7 days? Should I leave my house for a few days? If we do, will the eggs hatch and re-contaminate my home after we return? Should I bomb? We used perm 5% 3 times leaving it on for 24 to 48 hours with few results.

Okay,

my bad. I guess it does not kill the eggs. About 4 days after my dose I got crazy itchy where I have the bugs. I can only think that eggs must have hatched and it started all over again. I am due to take another dose tomorrow. In the mean time...my husband and I moved out of the house for 3 days. I cleaned before we left and then cleaned and sprayed after we returned. My house is encased in plastic. I feel like I am poisoning myself. My skin is dry from the bleach baths and the sulfur soap and my body aches from the 4 times I have used perm lotion. Does this happen? I am worried about taking the next dose if Iver because I do have fatty liver disease but I will take it anyway.

You come on here every single day as a united states poster and change your name every single day posting as someone who suffers from this.

my question to you is this....

you have LIVER DISEASE and you are on a scabies forum, asking TOTAL STRANGERS about ivermectin.

You know this med is a bit hard on the liver and you come here asking US about how you should take this med????l

You got a prescription from a physician.

I suggest you talk to your physician and stop asking dumb questions to complete strangers on a forum.

And quit messing around on the net and effing with people here.

vss, KMA. I am as legitimate as anyone else on this forum, not that I have to convince you or anyone else of that. I didn't ASK anyone about taking Ivermectin you idiot, I just made a statement and posed a question about my personal experience regarding the perm cream and body aches. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. I simply stated my concerns, you moron, about using Ivermectin because I have fatty liver. Are you completely stupid? If you think my questions are dumb...THEN DON"T READ THEM! There's a concept. Shut up and take care of yourself and I will do the same and quit pestering me.

@Jenny- but was your crawling sensation the feeling of actual bugs trying to get into your nose, mouth, eyes,& ears? I think just crawling & itching is definitely part of post scabies but what I feel as night comes is definitely bugs;/. I really wish it wasn't.
Have you considered collembola-(springtails)?
Sounds like the symptoms may fit. If so, you need to take care of your environment pretty quick.

I have had this horrible condition for close to 3 yrs. At first I suspected scabies; then thought eczema, then maybe allergies, and now have CONFIRMED it is in fact scabies. Now that I am literally displaced and jobless due to Yarnell Fire, I am desperate to get over this! I have tried the horse paste wormer (same as ivermectin) and had results. Finally just got Permethrin 5% cream refilled - but too late. The little boogers multiplied. I think during all this time the boogers have set up condominiums!!!! Treating with Ivermecting every 7 days and applying Permethrin. Tomorrow is my birthday. All I want is to NOT ITCH!!! I want these bugs GONE!!!!!!!!!!

I bought ivermectin here without a prescription http://onlinepharmplace.com/... and it took about a couple months of finally getting rid of them once and for all.

Tried the natural way, yea didn't work , neem oil, neem soap, and neem pills. Helped with the ridiculous itching but they kept coming back with a vengeance! So I did some research and ordered some permethrin form amazon and some ivermectin paste 1.87% and some Dead Sea salt body wash! A three hit combo that finally works !(1)Washing aggressively the the Dead Sea body wash,(2) taking the ivermectin following the dosage carefully (it's marked on the syringe)(3)and then putting on the permethrin mixed with the neem oil (mix to 5%) from head to toe (so I guess that's a 1,2,3,4 punch i.e. neem oil). Repeat 2 maybe 3 times if they are really stubborn then VoilĂ ! Parasite free! For the holidays . Oh yea Wait about 5-6 days between the ivermectin, and dont wash till after 48 hrs after you take the ivermectin. Use body wash and perm as needed. GOOD LUCK ! Hope this helps *i am not a doctor* just a guy who got rid of my scabies ;-)

I am using the cream on a regular basis....usually a 'spot on' treatment, but last week was the 'all over'. Now I am almost out - AGAIN..... cost for a little tube of the cream is $78.00 and that is at Walmart! I have been also taking orally the ivermectin horse wormer every 7-10 days. Boy am I seeing a coming out party....I am miserable. The bugs are coming our through my skin. Guess that's the only way for them to eliminate? Meanwhile, I don't sleep, itch, scratch, and fuss and remove the bugs w/tweezers 24/7. Any encouragement? How long will this shit last?
