Vann...what help you have offered people! I can understand why doctors, even if they know about Food Grade DE, would be hesitant about letting their patients know. I prefer to think it has nothing to do with money and more to do with the FDA not approving DE for this particular treatment. That being said, I experienced the same thing with my veterinarian. I proved my point to him and now he's a fan, but...it was a long hard fight and involved my keeping a diary and regular visits to the vet's office to check for fleas, ticks and worms. Word of mouth is the best way to spread the word about DE and then each and every person, like you, who has had such positive results, advocating its use....Thanks again! Here is some more valuable information on Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth: http://www.gardenharvestsupply.com/ProductCar... Scroll down for all the details!
DE IS A SCAM....

It causes damage to your lungs.

The mites die out on their own. you don't need DE to kill the mites.

Quit pushing DIRT on this forum.

It's a waste of money.

The people selling this stuff have mounted a large campaign to tell you that amorphous food grade DE is safe because it is not crystalline The way DE works is to scratch off the surface biofilm internally and to fill up the skins pores with tiny shards of broken glass. DE is silica, which is essentially glass.

Glass is amorphous , if you get a window from a 100 year old house you will find that the glass is thicker at the bottom of the pane because it flowed over the 100 years. Thatís amorphous neither liquid nor solid, it doesnít have an exact melting point.

But if you break that window it will still cut you. All silica weather itís called amorphous or crystalline is sharp, thatís how it works, and those sharp edges get stuck in tissue. That is why silica migrates through the body very slowly , it cuts its way through.

Also your body doesnít metabolize it. In the case of breathing it your lungs will isolate it as a foreign substance and grow tissue around it to protect you, this is called interstitial lung disease.

Silica also has severe immune system effects. Donít be fooled it doesnít matter if it is amorphous or crystalline all DE, read silica will hurt you. Your body canít metabolize either kind of silica and there is always some crystalline silica in food grade DE. It also cuts through your GI tract which is how it has such negative effects on the immune system.

DE is a toxin and should not be used.

I had scabies for only a few weeks, but was anxious to get the problem resolved. I went to the doctor and got the prescription stuff but felt like it wasn't working as I still felt crawling all over my body. I began using the DE mixture with an herbal oil I found at Walmart (no Grapeseed oil) and the blue head and shoulders sulfur shampoo. The day after I started covering myself in DE the crawling began to decline and 5 days later I am only having minor itches, and no crawling sensations. I went ahead and took all the environmental precautions as well. Diatemacious Earth is a cure all. It took care of my brother's flea infestation and now it helped cure my scabies. I no longer feel like a leper. Thanks for all the advice!

Diatamaceous Earth does absolutely nothing to cure scabies. The selenium sulfide shampoo works way better than DE, which does absolutely nothing to cure scabies. It is a money making scam. Beware of internet frauds, people.

I have been fighting these evil creatures for 9 months now. It all started with a street dog we rescued. He was a mess, we got him all cleaned up and healthy and then the itchies began in the house, it spread to the cars and then to work. I became very depressed and hopeless after trying everything. I am used to healing us with natural cures and we rarely go to the doctor. I got so desperate with this i resorted to poisonous sprays and dips and medicines. Still no cure. I have already used many thngs you are using but didn't mix them together. I used the de everywhere like a snow storm, i sprayed with windex, i used different oils on the skin along with neem, tea trea, clove, and many others. I used sulfer, vinegar, hydrogen and borax etc.... All had some effect but wouldn't knock it out. I used each thing by itself and now i am using the mixture like you suggest. It might make a difference because it creates a barrier. I will keep everyone updated on the progress.
I want to add that i learned some things that contradict the information you get from doctors about scabies.
1 you do get full blown scabies from animals
2 they live way longer than 3 days without a host
3 they will live through normal laundering and not die unless you soak them by turning off the full washer for an hour, you also have to add a killer of some kind. I used pine sol and borax
4 they will live in carpet and furniture for a long time, at least a month or more, they seem to breed in there but not sure.
5 doctors are clueless and everything they believe is wrong.
6 chemicals no longer work on scabies.
7 they only bite certain people, don't know why.
8 regular people will find the cure for this, hopefully Vann has hit on it and will end a tremendous amount of suffering in the world. I vowed that if i found a cure i would spread it around to anybody that would listen.
9 our environment has now created many super bugs, mutated with pesticides and interbreeding with foreign species. We are on the front lines fighting one of these superbugs, this information will be very helpful in other areas besides scabies, good luck to all and don't give up.

I have had scabies for over 1 1/2 years. It took me over a month to discover that was what I had. I never went to a doc, but over time, I knew that's what it had to be. I tried everything that I could think of, including: Horse paste, bleach baths, sea salt soak and scrub, borax baths, arm and hammer baths, natural enzymes, happy jack kennel dip (diluted), advantage, advantix, all kinds of oils. These things helped to the point where I have not had any visible signs on my skin for nearly a year, but can still feel the crawlies under my skin and rashes wanting to pop up again from time to time. I began using DE nearly a week ago and I believe it's working. I still kind of feel a very faint crawling under my skin, but it feels like they are losing strength. I am applying it topically twice each day and taking it internally 3 times per day. I finally feel hopeful. I have read that critters cannot develop a tolerance to DE. Will see if this is true. Oh...I have also been taking hot baths each day with DE and Arm and Hammer detergent. After I get out, while my pores are wide open, I apply more DE and oil.

Love the advice! First time in my life to experience such pestilence, scabies are the worst. Thanks to all of you I have a new outlook as I'm just beginning to get better. Did use perm 5% from my doc before reading here. Dried up most of the rash but still seeing new bites, will try the de tonight as well as the grapeseed oil. So paranoid about my family getting it, they start it tonight as well. Let you know how it works for us! Thanks so much again, after reading so many still battling after months and years was very, very emotionally discouraging!!!!

First off, I am doing all of these steps, and have been. I use Borax in the laundry, and wash my clothes everysingle day!!!!!!!!!! My sheets wash everyday in warm water with borax. We have another laundry additive from scabies killer saying it kills the mites which we use as well. You must have misunderstood me. We have a spray that claims to kill them as well which we spray all over the house everyday! I will keep posting about my results back in my post.
Hi I dont knwo if you still read this forum but did you beat the scabies? What is the stuff you used to spray in the house each day?

Hi Sherryn,
How did the DE work for you and how did you use it? I just woaked in a salt bath and then used a DE grapeseed mixture on myself and my husband. I also put some dry DE directly on my body. I just feel nasty now lol. waiting to see what happens after I shower in the morning. Im not too itchy right now either. This is getting out of hand cleaning like crazy and lots of laundry!

That's right, DE and grapeseed will make you feel dirty and will not cure you. You can use that and sulphur soap all you want, but it is not a cure and never will be. The real cures are the phamaceuticals, like ivermectin (any kind of iver you want to use) and permethrin. These two used together will cure you. Keep cleaning like crazy, but until you use the real meds, you are chasing your tail.
And please, know this, you are one person disguised as a DE sales person. I know the games you people play. You are very good at what you do.
So, how is it going for you today? Are you feeling like sasquatch with dirt rubbed all over your body? Clean it off and buy yourself some real meds to cure your scabies. If you have any questions, I am here to HELP

Well I am certainly no sales person thanks. I am willing to try anything. After seeing my baby with the spots and the doctor told me it was just a breakout rash of some kind??and gave me neosporin. now he has more bumps. I bought some permitherin 10 from the tractor supply store and my husband and I are going to try it tonight. The DE and oil just dried us out and dont feel like it is working. Maybe I have no patience at this point and hoping to just stop feeling it all, altogether bu I know that wont happen. We did the clove oil and grapeseed oil. That we did for about a weak now. I am doing that everyday on top of whatever else I use. IDK Im so frustrated. The premethrin from the prescription is $80 for a 2 oz tube are they friggin kidding I have 4 people to treat !
Good luck

Keep reading this forum. Do a search for permethrin and ivermectin. Many threads will appear. Good luck. Yes, the prescriptions are super expensive, but they work. Just keep reading. Have you tried the ivermectin? Please look into it. Many threads will appear for this med.
clove oil will not cure you.
DE will not cure you.
Keep the perm on your skin for at least 12 hours without washing it off. If you wash your hands, reapply to your hands before bed. Wash your hands and feet regularly. This is a must for scabies.
To be honest, and I hate repeating this, but the ivermectin is what has cured most people on this forum. Read the posts and threads back from 2006, 2007, 2008, that is when this forum was real and not spammed with sales people. And remember, I am addressing all the newbies here and not just one poster. Keep that in mind.
Yes, treating four people on one household can be quite taxing, I agree.
But, right now, you are in the thick of it, and you have to work hard at curing your family.
Pets will also have to be treated with revolution and/or ivermectin. Look for signs of scratchy, shaking the head, licking and biting paws, etc. Cats cannot have or be around any permethrin, no permethrin spray. It will make them very sick and/or kill them.

Hi! I know I'm coming to the board late, but I really need help. I have no health insurance so the medication for scabies is really expensive and I need Help! I've been infected 4x in the past year and I just can't take it anymore! I hope you're still responding to this post. I'm going to try all of this I just have one question. How did you measure out the 25%DE to 75% Winded/grapeseed oil. I'm horrible with math so I have no clue how to do that and know it's correct.

Online is your best bet, to stay free of pool grade (poisonous) DE and the stuff with betonite added. Earthworks. Wolf Creek Ranch. Amazon.
Also cheap access to permethrin can be had by purchasing vet's treatment and diluting by half to make it a 5% solution. one of them is Martin's. Read about it in comments on Amazon, guy got it for a poor family that no way could afford the prescription variety. That and sulfur soap cleared up the whole family. reportedly safe and many applications possible for about 15 bucks.
