I would like to know how soon people notice they have scabies the second time you get it after being free of it for a number of years.

You would think it would be simple to cure the second time since you would have time to get treatment before generations of mites infect you. From all the online info they say you notice it within a day. I just want to know if this is true or did it take 4-6 weeks to show up. I never want to go through this hell ever again.

Now that I'm free of this i wash my hands at least 10 times a day or use hand sanitizer when i'm away from home.

Because your immune system went through quite the battle the first time around, you would notice within 24-48 hours if you got it again because the body would be shocked to go through it again. So no it wouldn't take 4-6 weeks again unless you have one hell of an immune system or perhaps only suffered with scabies for a week or less which is unlikely because people don't notice it that quick.

Shelly,
Its more likely to not have gotten rid of the mites in the first place. And also to be reinfected by clothes, car, carpet, sofa, pets, partner, seatbelt, purse, backpack, wooden floor, wood dining table, leather, bedding, workspace, rattan chair,...etc, etc.

Or it could be that you are getting reinfected at your workplace, where there may be people who are infected and are spreading the mites on chairs, computers, desks, carpeting, phones, and common shared areas.
