Ok, I've found enough of the old threads to copy & paste to take with me to UCLA tomorrow - whether they are true or from Syria. Getting seen there, requires me to show up at 6 am, because I had to refer myself there. My doc won't refer me because she would have to disclose that I self-medicated with Comfortis. More on that later. Meanwhile,UCLA Harbor City will only see me if I go through the ER and I can't make an appointment no matter what insurance I have. Thus 6 am. Try to keep you posted.

ER was a zoo. Took 9 hours to be seen by aTriage Nurse. Scared him good with my rashes & my thorough type written records.(LOL)
Go back tomorrow at 8 am for Urgent Care w/ a Doc. No cell signal in hospital, otherwise would post you...
Having my doubts already about The THREE Experts seeing 'Cured for Life', we will see....

Uncle Sam I believe you're right. I found the original article written by a doc in Syria. I have good insurance & my GP, ID & Derm all see that I've had multi Iver & multi Perm 5%, Lindane & Eurax- so they said go to a Teaching Hospital where they have time to help you.

Shelley, you offered to help. I need some. What kind of help were you referring to? Just went through UCLA's Urgent Care & need my referral to their Dermatology Dept. expedited. Academia is not expedititious.

I'm sorry you're going through so much... All I have to offer is my own personal experience... Have you had a biopsy or skin scraping that definitively shows scabies? We thought we were battling scabies or some sort of resistant sarcoptic mite for the first two months... Until I purchased a microscope and started viewing everything with that... I found that we had a springtail infestation... Not sure if it was just springtails all along or what... You really have to find out exactly what you're dealing with in order to get rid of the scourge... We are still not completely out of the woods, but things have improved drastically. I posted just about everything under the springtails/collembola thread... Please let me know if I can help...

Thanks Shelly. I read about springtails, ouch. I would have hoped that all of the DE I spread every where and even in my shoes, would make a difference,as they like it moist. So do the scabies...
I lost my jeweler's loop and can't get my son's microscope to work, so need to buy one for myself, obvously. Thanks for the reminder. I do have two specimens with legs & head/body.
My latest "pro" skin scraping was a farce, she didn't use mineral oil and walked across the exam room with the loose flakes flying off the spatula on the way to the Petri dish. Ick. Yah, my insurance paid, but any of us could have done better.
Please, I ask everyone here to please help me to say the right thing to the Derm Dept at UCLA, in the first three minutes of their attention span.#1, I want them to keep me in the hospital for days and treat me. I'm so worn out from mega laundry, showering, medicating & trying to be a parent & run my firm. I feel like I'm radioactive. You know, you've been there.#2, give me the custom meds & the out-of-the-box treatment to be done with this.
As Fred pointed out, we can't get all of the proper chemicals to replicate the what the Docs can do. My private practice Docs won't take the time to think past what it says in the PDR, for anyone, as it's not billable.
Thanks again everyone. 6 months and really depressed...

Is there anyone in our "community" who has or wants to make an "outlet" for supplies that work? I spend a lot of time going to Feed Stores, but can't get it all there. A few things that California restricts that I know can be easily had in the Midwest, OTC. For example, lots of Sardix II, cheap injectible, paste & pourable Iver there. If I ever get better, I hope to help others with some tangible resources.

This is how it should be done. Cure them ONCE and FOR ALL and to STOP SPREADING- yay. But... will it happen?

I'd be interested in helping to set something up if someone had the wherewithal. Live in Aus but pc literate, can set up websites etc. Either referral/help/support service or selling the good meds. Horse iver and dog meds can all be sold OTC here. Perm 5% cream only in OTC in chemists but dog perm and horse iver OTC in pet stores. DE can also be sold anywhere.
But- get this- human iver CANNOT be prescribed for any reason whatsoever- extremely frustrating and contrary. Also very weird because Australia did the experiments with human iver and said it should be first line treatment. Another example of stopping effective medication to the masses- why?

We have mines here in New Mexico that have the Food Grade DE & by the 50lb bag it's a great deal. Yes, we have the vet products too. We'll have to compare detailed notes, someday.
Here in the states, we have Permethrin resistant mites, but in Australia, you guys officially admit it. Too bad.
We'll compare OTC's later, I need to go be a parent.

Is there a thread on mail order companies only? Meaning, I read about mail order "things" like Iver oral from India and I am pretty doubtful about putting that in my mouth.

Hi Charlie... We are at the six month mark, too... And trying to move forward. Quite scary since we still have a few stragglers in the house... You know, I've found that PA's (physician assistants) are a whole lot more willing to help than doctors... Especially the experts. The absolute worst doctor I saw was the "mite expert"... Bragged about speaking all over the world and claimed that half the residents thought they were infested with parasites after hearing him speak. Give me a break. A real doucher. Try a doctors office with multiple doctors, but make a same day appointment with a PA if you can... Or try a minor emergency clinic on a busy night... So they won't feel like arguing... Try to stay calm... Keep it simple. Tell them you've been dealing with scabies and that the topicals aren't working. You need stromectol... If you think you've got a fungal infection (which is usually the result of all of the topicals), you might ask for antifungals instead. It's pretty hard to decipher the two because they can often feel the same... What are your symptoms, if you don't mind sharing??

I wouldn't order from India... Just me. Do you have a Tractor Supply or similar farm/feed store? I just tried to find one (there is one that a lot of people suggested on here somewhere previously) but I can't remember the name now... I'll keep looking for ya..

Hey Charlie, if your in Cali I don't know how far the boarder is from where you live, but I would take a road trip to Mexico and get the ivermectin pills. I had a friend get them for me. In Mexico the pills come in 6mg. (At least the ones I got) and you get 2 in a box for $6.00 US. It's about 6mg for every 60 pounds. Also the prem cream is about $10.00 per tube. They also have this lotion that is prem and it's easier to spread on your scalp. I would get a lot so you won't have to make the trip again. Or you can buy the animal iver that most people buy on the forum.

I'm seeing an excellent I.D. at Cedars Sinai. Using friend's detox diet. Making progress.
