OMG!!!!!'hats', I am with you, brother!!!!! I went away for three weeks for Christmas and had a pet sitter for my diabetic cat. When I came back, within 48 hours marks started appearing on my face, then spread all over the body, concentrating on armpits and 'down below', but also randomly everywhere else. I went through hell and back being diagnosed with scabies, taking the cat to the vet and being told that nothing is wrong with it, having my husband come down with them, washing 15 f*cking loads of laundry on one weekend (not to mention all the other loads since then), doing the cream numerous times, using Miterid soap for weeks, with no relief. Finally I did some reading and checking and it turns out the cat has walking dandruff, caused by a mite. I am in India and can't get good stuff for the cat but he is getting ivermectin injections at least. I got sick and acutally ended up in the hospital, which was GREAT because I wasn't getting any more bites!!! I get a handle on things for a few days, then then, wham, the bites are back. I woke up to about 20 on my face today and look like total crap!!! I am going nuts. The doc told me not to take any more ivermetin, but since beginning of Jan. I have only taken 2 doses of 6mg. I said screw it and got another pill today (they are cheap here and you don't need a rx) and am going to put the cream in my hair, as they seem to congregate there on my hair line, based on the bites. The poor cat is starved for attention as I won't go near him! I just can't seem to get rid of the things to save my life. Have you gotten rid of yours yet? For the love of Pete, I can't live like this anymore!!!!
JMS, I am still battling this ;{ but I am hopeful. I recently got introduced to the esp products--espbotanicals.com , the lady that started these product has done a lot of research--kind of an interesting story--her dad died at cancer young, her mom got the same type of cancer abut 10 yrs later and was given a few months to live, as a nurse she--next post

She had watched people ( her dad included) die of cancer whilst going through chemo. Long story short she and her mother decided to forgo all of that and get into the natural products. Her mom lived another 14 years after the "death" diagnosis. Read about her, I dont think she is making a ton off these products but kind of labor of love. I have had some good success using these products--they pull stuff out of your skin! My skin feels really good, they'll pull stuff out at first till you get clean of it, they have a heal the body inside and out metohod, vs what was trying to do--kill evrything with bleach perm whatever--but none of that worked long term.I have only bee using he products for 1 week but impressed, time will tell. I think I am starting to sound like a commerical for them so I will stop--I just think it is where my money was best spent, and I have bought it all.

Ok, so the cheapest way i can find permethrin is to buy martin's permethrin 10% and dilute it half and half with lotion. But the ivermectin is expensive from the pharmacy, especially for a four week treatment for two. What about the liquid stuff for shots, like 1% ivomac? does anyone know the dosage? me and my girlfriend are both infected and dont have the cash for the doctor. any advise is greatly appreciated

Can you buy the Martins brand at a feed store or somewhere besides online? And sorry if this information is already posted - I always lose my place on here and have a hard time finding it back - right now I'm fixing to have to get ready for work and am not able to go back and try to look at the other posts to see if this information is already here on this thread.

Thank you in advance!:-)

the instructions on the Merial Ivomec Injectible is right on the pamphlet that comes with the med. For every 110 pounds, the dosage is 1 ml., which is clearly indicated on the syringe.(or 1 cc for every 110 pounds).

the problem with martins is that is does not contain a pbo. the happy jack II contains a pbo, but it is 17 percent permethrin, and will need to be cut down to about five percent.

i have read so many post b/c i have gone through 4 tubes of premetherin and one dose of ivermectin plus many...many home remedies that i read about online. I recently read a post that took extreme doses of ivermectin, left her home for a week to stay in different hotel room as to stay away from her infested environment. She finally cured herself of this. However, as I was about to order ivermectin online i read about the safety issues--a study where several died 6 months after treatment w ivermec, now i am afraid to try--but almost desperate enough to risk.
there is one article out there which states deaths from taking ivermectin. but this article was about folks in a nursing home who died. but, if you look at this article logically, you will see, as plain as day, that people die in nursing homes every single day. these people are old and fragile. ivermectin is safe, but you have to know about it. you have to know exactly what it does and how it does it. you have to read up on it. there are many doctors out there who do not know about using ivermectin for scabies. ivermectin still has not been approved by the FDA or whatever government agency approves drugs. it is being used off label to treat scabies. the vets know more about it than regular M.D.'s. my derm told me that HIV patients will receive the ivermectin through IV, because they are sick and on their death beds, with scabies.
The CDC has included in the treatment of scabies, the use of ivermectin. Educate yourself on this drug.

I just took ivermectin-for horses. I've had scabies for two months now, and probably made them worse because I had no idea what I was doing. I'm so used to being insured that it took me a while to find my stride online(as I am unemployed now:(. I have no idea how I got them except that my roommate is a slob. I haven't been anywhere out of the house, hardly, in months. I've used nix, freedom 45, deepwoods off, epsom salt, rid, olive oil, and, lastly, ivermectin. I will also start washing with some sulfur soap I just bought. I have them on the tops of my hands and my genitals. The Vinegar bath really hurt in ways you just don't know. I took the ivermectin according to my weight so I think I'll be alright.
I'm so full of poisons right now,it sucks. However, I've been in excellent shape all of my life and hope my constitution can withstand the chemical assault.
I'm just being real here when I say I was worried I had Norwegian scabies...Until I read up on them. I just had them pretty bad in my genitalia because I kept re-infecting myself, I think. My 'member' looked scary for a day there. I had some intense itching-for the first time-and pulled down my pants and saw a bunch of bumps on me. Also 'it' had swelled to a pretty big size. I took a hot bath in epsom salt and got right to the olive oil afterwards. I used the deep-woods off/freedom 45 combo because I believe the Off has a pbo in it and freedom 45 doesn't
I know I'm really toxic so please don't comment on all the poisons I've taken. I know. I feel better already from the ivermectin. It may just be psychosomatic though. This board is a godsend.

I read the article too about Ivermectin deaths and most of the deaths happened way after the use of the drug and were probably not directly related to ivermectin use. some of the deaths were due to anorexia in some of the patients. remember these people were in a nursing home too.

I'm am simply going crazy! My son (11 yrs old) came down with a rash, I took him to the Dr. who diagnosed him with an allergic reaction and prescribed benadryl, which of course didn't do a darned thing! Unfortunately I let it go for another couple of months until his identical twin came down with the mysterious rash, took them both to th Dr.(this time saw their own pediatrician) who promptly diagnosed them with scabies and presribed permethrin, we have now (2 months later) gone thru 11 tubes of permethrina nd each a dose of Ivermectin (I have it the worst now) OMG!!! Did I mention that I had a hysterectomy on Jan 7th (1 week prior to the scabies diagnosis)...I am exhausted! Emotionally drained! This is now effecting my job...I have literally gone through 2 boxes of Surf Laundry soap that washed 120 loads each, 1/2 of a tub of soap from Costco that washes 200 loads, 2 gallons of bleach, I have sprayed my car, sprayed my furniture and we have not sat on the sofa or chair for 1.5 weeks now and I have 2 cats who have been put outside since we found out and one dog, I have also treated the pets with Revolution (they each have received 2 doses thus far and show no signs of infection). I have bought new beds (encased the mattresses in plastic covers before they were used) for my kids, new bedding...I have cleaned with bleach every where...I am going to bomb my house tomorrow and start all over again...I can't seem to get my Dr's to understand and get them to presribe another dose of Ivermectin, which I believed made a difference for me. I have even bought Tea Tree Oil and Neem Oil and treated us nightly...to no avail...I have been sleeping on a air mattress for a month now...Oh yeah even been showering 2x a day with 10% sulphur soap, I am flat broke now literally. These things also have been in my hair!

Cshell - please make sure you're not just having a reaction to all the perm treatments and the iver. I had a very bad reaction to the Iver that caused me to feel as if I still had scabies when I really didn't. I even still would feel those "pin pricks" and then get a red itchy bump immediately following that feeling. I felt things still crawling on me. I just knew I was still infected and the whole time I was cured!

Between the Iver, the perm, and all the other things I was putting into and onto my body, I managed to damage my skin to the point that it was still reacting in the same way that scabies did.

Are you seeing any burrows? This is something that I lacked. I just figured it was because I scratched so much that I messed them up and couldn't see them. NO - I had none! Just be very careful with all of this stuff. I know they say the Iver is very safe but it was obviously NOT as safe for me (and my children) as what it said to be. It ended up causing us more problems than necessarry. We took 3 iver treatments total. I KNOW we could have stopped at treatment #2 and possibly with treatment #1 even.

Take care and keep us posted!

I feel for you. You can buy ivermectin (the ingetible kind) sorry, my keyboard is messed up and the " " is not working), you can buy it from on line livestock company and take it orally. it's made by merial. you will need a syringe to withdraw the med from the bottle. you take one milliliter for every 100 pounds of body weight. mix with orange uice (sorry that letter is not working on my keyboard), and drink it down. do this once every 7 days for a month. this WILL help you. docs aren't used to prescribing ivermectin/stromectol here in the states. and they surely don't want to continue prescribing it, as it is being used off label. you can get plenty of doses from a 50 ml. bottle. the dogs and cats can take it, too, but not collies or some breeds of the herding breed of dogs. keep the pets outside. i shouldn't say this, because i let mine stay inside the house. but, i think it is best to keep them outside.

I went to a dermatology clinic on Friday and they told me I was having a allergic reaction to all the treatments that we were using, permethrin, Sulphur Soap, Neem oil and Ivermection...they put me on prednisone(sp?) to help releive me of the intesnse itching from the reaction. They said it shouldn't be possible for there to be any live mites with all the cleanning that I did (and still continue to do because I'm still freaked out over it0. I just hope and pray that I am as cured as they say. I'm a little irritated with my docotr andmy childrens pediatrician as they all just wanted to us to do another treatment without seeing us. Grr! I do still feel pin pricks here and there and I itch but I am really trying to just relax and not stress. But I also can see that things are mending.

Hey Joe!!:-)

And yes, don't get me wrong, I do believe the Iver is what cured it but I think I just took waaaaay too much of it and in doing so I've now got my system so upset that my skin is taking forever to heal completely.
