Hi all, I had a couple quick questions that hopefully I can get some positive input on.

First, let me share my experience.

I had a one night stand with a girl who had bumps on her stomach and around her breast. I asked he what it was before we got intimate, and she told me she was diagnosed with excema, and that she was on a steroid cream that was making it go away. She assured me it was not contagious, as that's what her doctor told her. Long story short, I ended up with the itchy rash, and the first doctor I saw diagnosed me with scabies by way of identifying the burrows and hearing my story about how everyone in her apartment had magically developed similar symptoms. Since then, I have seen 3 different doctors, and 2 of them told me I don't have scabies, and I am probably allergic to something (HA!), and I have used Permethrin twice with no success.

Now, as the rashes are getting more intense and widespread, along with blisters that refill with puss everytime i pop them, I have decided to say f**k the doctors- I went to magicpharma.com

I ordered 30 12mg Stromectol tabs, along with 3 tubes of permethrin. Now, my question is, Why is everyone saying that you should dose with Stromectol on days 1,2 5, 9... etc. I read a medical study online (you all probably have too) that states that with proper treatment, stromectol has a 100% success rate with just two doses, spread two weeks apart. The medicine was expensive, and I don't want to burn up any of them that I don't have to. I want to hear from people who have a logical reason for using so much Stromectol, as it just seems like overkill to me.

As far as the severity of my condition, I have rashes on about 7-10 places on my body, and i get the occaisional blisters that will not heal, and will not go away. I would the severity of it pretty low (3 out of 10) just based off of pictures that show how bad the scabies can damage your body.

Thanks!

I would like to know if anyone has any experience using the Stromectol tabs. I went to my first doctor and she told me to take 4 3MG tabs then in a week take another 4 tabs 3MG.. After this i felt ok for a short time but still new bumps. Went to another Doctor and he told me to take 1 3MG tab then another in two weeks. I was just wondering if anyone out ther knows the amout of pills I should take for my body weight. My weight is 230 LBS. thanks in advance for any information

the Iver dosage is 200ug per kg body weight.
230 LBS=104.33kg
So you should take 104.330.2=20.866mg
Because the smallest tablet available is 3mg, you take 73mg-tablet=21mg

OK, if you want to know about anything except my post, then look for it or create your own please.... i have been hijacked.

Anyhow, here is another question for all of you guys. Since I never had any skin scraping, my family and new girlfriend are skeptical that I even have scabies. I have been intimate with my current girlfriend for the past two months, and besides the occasional itching in areas such as legs around the knees and around the waistline (I watch like a hawk every time she scratches) she has only had one rash (looked just like the ones I get ALL THE TIME where it is a concentrated red blob with buckshot-like red dots surrounding it). Is it possible that I don't even have scabies?

I have gotten a few pimple like sores that look like mean whitehead pimples, and i pop them and they never heal. Does anyone else have this happen?

I am going crazy, because my girlfriend thinks that she doesnt have it, and doesn't even want to treat for it. One of her cats (she has 2) has polkadot scabs around his ears on the top of his head, and it seems like scabies to me. She thinks that he just gets into fights and that is why he has these scabs on his head he is scratching all of the time. I am afraid that even if I treat everything myself, I will just get reinfected by the cats, as she refuses to even consider giving them any medication.

I think I am going fudging insane.

PLEASE HELP ME FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!

Oh, also forgot to mention that I do have one sore on my arm that kind of came out of nowhere that scabbed up before I even knew it existed. I just want to die at this point.

Oh, I'm sorry, I must be the only person here who has ever had a one night stand. Listen, dickwad- I just got out of a long relationship, and I rebounded with some random girl I met. That is the first time I have ever even had sex with someone that I wasn't in a serious relationship. I suggest you take a long walk off of a short cliff. Please.

we had a dog next door that had ticks, fleas, and mites, and worms. She gave most of her parasites to my pets. I took my cat into the vet, and the vet noticed a scab between her eye and ear and dis a scraping. He took it straight under the microscope and came back with saying she had sarcoptic mange. It was a nightmare in my household and still is after 3 years, so you may have an animal sarcoptic mite. It's not the classical human scabies, and is a little harder to get rid of. But, nevertheless, you treat with the same meds; i.e, permethrin, ivermectin, and othe topicals like sulfur/cream, Eurax, Benzyl Benzoate lotion. The family always thinks you don't have it, because they have no idea the torture you go through. There are alot of threads on this forum and all the answers are in the threads. You will need to keep y our environment and clothes mite free.

I also thought my cat was getting in fights at night with other cats, but that was not the case. It was a crusted scab full of scabies mites.

Thanks, Itty Bitty. How much money do you think it will run to get the cat checked out at the vets?

it all depends. tell them you only want her checked for mites. if she has a scab, they can do a scraping, but if she doesn't have any scabs, then nothing may show up. the vets usually treat if there is a strong indication of mites, scratching, loss of hair, sores, head shaking, ear scratching. it all depends on what you want done. tell them you are short of money, if you are, and keep track of what they are doing to her.

UPDATE

Well, sh*t kind of hit the fan last night. As the cat came up to my girlfriends room, we noticed that he had a huge patch of hair on the back of his head missing. We could now see every little scab that she thought was from fighting, and they looked like small circular crusted sores.... not scratches or anything like that.

My gilfriend promptly freaked out and started crying, and then started itching really bad herself, and we had .... a terrible night.

I don't understand why everyone wants to doubt scabies until they start seeing that they may have it... everyone writes me off as insane (including a few doctors who take one look at a small area of my body and tell me i do not have scabies).

ANYWAYS... there are 2 cats and 2 dogs in the house. One of the dogs shows no signs of an infection, but the other dog is itching herself all the time- however, this has been going on since even before I met her. Can dogs have this too? If so... there is no way in hell I can afford to spend $150 or whatever it will be a week for god knows how long at the vets.

Is there any way I can buy the injectable ivermectin and use it on the cats and dogs myself? I am pretty desperate.

Yes, I would also like to mention (as I forgot) that I brought scabies to this house. the cats were fine before they met me. I had done my second dose of permethrin and given the "all clear" go ahead from my doc, so I didn't think I would be spreading this awful infestation to anyone.

so are you saying that I have had the animal form of scabies this whole time and passed it to the cat?

you probably got the mites from the dog?? who knows.... yes, you can use the inj. ivermectin on the pets, etc. you just need to be careful with the dosage on pets, etc. the inj. ivermectin was THE FIRST thing my vet used on all my pets. i was so very clueless back then. I was a total mite virgin.

some pets get this worse than others. but that doesn't mean they are not carrying the mite. i've been told that their immune systems play a big part in this. even though i boosted their quality of food and vitamin intake, etc., i was still not able to rid them of this.

i hate this steve guy.... he needs to get perma banned.

I caught scabies from another human. I passed the scabies onto the cat.... the vet told me that this was impossible, but he is wrong.

i have read so many post b/c i have gone through 4 tubes of premetherin and one dose of ivermectin plus many...many home remedies that i read about online. I recently read a post that took extreme doses of ivermectin, left her home for a week to stay in different hotel room as to stay away from her infested environment. She finally cured herself of this. However, as I was about to order ivermectin online i read about the safety issues--a study where several died 6 months after treatment w ivermec, now i am afraid to try--but almost desperate enough to risk.

OMG!!!!!'hats', I am with you, brother!!!!! I went away for three weeks for Christmas and had a pet sitter for my diabetic cat. When I came back, within 48 hours marks started appearing on my face, then spread all over the body, concentrating on armpits and 'down below', but also randomly everywhere else. I went through hell and back being diagnosed with scabies, taking the cat to the vet and being told that nothing is wrong with it, having my husband come down with them, washing 15 f*cking loads of laundry on one weekend (not to mention all the other loads since then), doing the cream numerous times, using Miterid soap for weeks, with no relief. Finally I did some reading and checking and it turns out the cat has walking dandruff, caused by a mite. I am in India and can't get good stuff for the cat but he is getting ivermectin injections at least. I got sick and acutally ended up in the hospital, which was GREAT because I wasn't getting any more bites!!! I get a handle on things for a few days, then then, wham, the bites are back. I woke up to about 20 on my face today and look like total crap!!! I am going nuts. The doc told me not to take any more ivermetin, but since beginning of Jan. I have only taken 2 doses of 6mg. I said screw it and got another pill today (they are cheap here and you don't need a rx) and am going to put the cream in my hair, as they seem to congregate there on my hair line, based on the bites. The poor cat is starved for attention as I won't go near him! I just can't seem to get rid of the things to save my life. Have you gotten rid of yours yet? For the love of Pete, I can't live like this anymore!!!!

When I had scabies it was the most horrible thing , I felt uncomfortable around everyone and thought it would never end, there is a quick way to end your breakout safely. Permethrin does not work folks if you have had scabies for a couple weeks and it is dangerous.
