Has anyone reported success with this new topical for rosacea? It seems to be just an overpriced moisturizer ($130). If you use it more often, will it increase the chances of impacting redness?

"Senetek PLC (OTC Bulletin Board: SNKTY), a life sciences company engaged in the development of technologies that target the science of healthy aging, announced that the clinical study entitled "Topical PRK-124 (0.125%) Lotion for Improving the Signs and Symptoms of Rosacea," has been published in the May issue of Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, a peer-reviewed dermatologic publication."

Kathleen, I love it, had been using the regular Lumeris Pyratine since it was released in the Spring of '08 and now I've been using the XR Pyratine since its release a few months ago. It works, plain and simple, it's not a cure and it won't eliminate your rosacea, but it has made a big difference in mine... also, you don't need alot of it, after I shower when my skin is still moist, I just dab on a bit and rub it in. The 2oz. or 2 1/2oz. tube should last you about 3-4 months.

I agree. It is somewhat helpful, especially with tight uncomfortable skin that we often experience.

Spinner, For the price, is the new Pyratine better than the Lumeris version?

Thanks. J.

Well well, Jack and Jill taking the heat off poor old Nase. I’ve heard it all now.

Who next then?

About time Rosie appeared as well as she is overdue.

Now you think Nase would be busy sticking labels on his bottles of Rosaydn or creating templates for his Super Forum. Obviously not but that’s no surprise is it.

Peter, Get a life. Start your own board and yell all day long. Do something constructive. Believe it or not, people were here before your obsession. No big conspiracy theories. While you were ranting, Spinner helped out with information on free ORACEA, gave out some good advice on Pyratine XR and before I spend $85 on what looks to be a good product by MD Skincare, Id like a little feedback. At least be constructive and discuss your red light therapy. Id much rather have the old days of Head and Shoulders curing rosacea than the Tom and Jerry show that you and BB have put on. Im sure I speak for the collective.

Hey! Don't drag me into your feuds,'Jack'! I've kept my posts on topic in all threads, I believe.

Regarding Pyratine...

Hmmm, I really have no idea if this is for real, or as was suggested, just another topical product targeted at the rosacea market.

But regardless, it sounds interesting! The info they posted on the site seems to suggest that this product promotes cell division cycles, rejuvenating the skin. It seems that supplementary cytokinin can help maintain cyclin homeostatis in certain plants... but whether that correlates to humans, I'm not sure. They seem to feel their research supports such a thesis.

Maybe Pyratine can make us live forever? Tsss... ;-)

Seriously though, I don't buy their 2 week hype. If it was that powerful, we wouldn't be hearing about it first in rosacea topical.

BB - just be constructive. I agree that this is just hype and another dead end.

I thought that was what you are doing and where your next post was going to be? Another lie to add to that long list of lies.

I will tell you to return to July the money you stole from her YOU THIEF!
That looks pretty constructive to me.
Now after you have paid her back then you do something else very constructive. Just go away to where you belong – being a lab technician. Do it in Indiana or Pennsylvania – I don’t think anybody really cares as long as you stay away. Pennsylvania is probably better because that’s where your current DL is from. Don’t show it to the cops though because they won’t recognize you from that picture LOL

Jack,

I always try to behave in a manner that I feel appropriate. I think you'd agree that my posts are invariably consistent with the theme of their threads. Your semi-hostile finger-wagging is no more required than it is welcome.

Regarding Pyratine...

I wouldn't say it was a dead end; if nothing else it shows an interest in the rosacea cause. Ultimately, if we want anything resembling an effective topical, then the attention of major companies must be roused.

Pyratine might well turn out to offer certain benefits to certain types of rosaceans (perhaps if nothing more than as an effective and rosacea friendly moisturizer). I highly doubt it will do all that it 'says on the can', but good or bad, new products targetted to us show a trend in our direction.

I have rosacea and have used the Pyratine XR for about a month. I have noticed an big increase in fine lines, wrinkles, skin roughness and reducing redness. I have had laser over the years and think that you have to give it some time. Every day I would look to see what changes were happening but am seeing big results now. I have tried prescription products and they irritate and have used glycolic products that burn and sting. I really see it as a very good product that works. I have tried many over the years that promise everything and deliver nothing for a steep price. This works!

Does it make your face redder right after application?

It should be noted that Kathleen, Jill M, and Jack are fake accounts and most likely Nase himself.

Another feeble attempt at diverting the attention from Rosadyn.

I don't know how useful this is, but:

I’m just a regular dude, sports freak surfer in my 40’s who was given some Pyratine XR samples at my dermatologists office.

I do not have rosacea or any real skin problems, other than normal age and maybe sun.

I have been using this stuff on my whole face and neck for a few weeks after shaving, and it seems like my skin is way better, which was totally a surprise.

Maybe it’s just my imagination, but my skin seems to be way smoother, really clear and looks tauter and the lines around my eyes, etc, diminished by about 50%.

Like I said maybe it’s just my imagination, but it sure seems to make my skin look good.

Me again. I gave some to a friend with Rosacea, a woman in her early 60's, and she is thrilled with it. Like me, it improved her skin over-all and got rid of fine lines and made the skin feel "thicker" and "tauter" (her words) and also helped her Rosacea. So it works for some people, at least.

I have been using PyratineXR for about a month. I have had Rosecea for years, tried everything - financea, IPL laser, orecea, everything.

PyratineXR is amazing stuff -- in just a month my Rosecea is dramtically improved. Now the pictures on the website of a person - where that person started is about where I am now, I had a much worse case than what they show, but I can go without makeup and I look sunkissed instead of sun burned.

This stuff is impressive for me.

Here is a wonderful example of Geoffrey Nase bashing a competitor's product.

Notice the various aliases from Fishers, Indiana?

Stay classy Nase!

If I remember correctly these aliases uaed to read as "location hidden" or "united states" it wasn't till the moderators kicked g nase's profile off for abuse that all the positions of Fishers became visible.@
