Head and Shoulders saved my skin. No more protopic. No more antibiotics.
Nothing, nadda. My skin glows now.

You are right Head & Shoulders Dandruff Shampoo is a good facial cleanser. My skin was very oily and after using the shampoo for about a week a was able to tell a huge difference. I'm now telling my teenage son about it so he can get a jump on the acne before it gets out of control.
I have the "dry scalp" version of H&S. Is that okay to use on my face for acne and rosacea?

be careful. i used head and shoulders after hearing that if left on overnight would help to clear my condition. not only was this false, but it burned my skin, leaving pussing blisters. i do not recommend leaving it on your skin.
what did you use to treat the burn and blisters?

Dear Doug, Whilst many people may find this helpful it is not because of the ingredents found in these anti-dandruff shampoo's but genrally a patients incorrect diognosis. The most likely condition you have is Seborrheic Dermatitis.
The above condition presents with similar symptoms to that of Rosacea, Red and blotchy skin, it is infact a hereditary condition that causes the skin cells to reproduce to quickly and gives the apperance of red skin. Seborrheic Dermatitis is a yeast based infection and therfor requires ongoing prevention to correctly manage your condition.
A quick and basic treatment is as follows;
Wash face with a anti dandruff shampoo for 10 minutes a day 10 days in a row and twice weekly for the rest of your time. Whilst in the initial stages of treatment apply resolve plus 1% to the effected area, this anti fungle product uses a mild steriod and will accelerate your recovery.
Please give feedback to this advice.

Thank you, Luke MD, for your advice. I am going to give your suggestion a try. I am 34 & have used retina prescriptions on my face for nearly 20 years! I feel like the skin on my face can no longer heal itself properly, & it stays reddish-orange! I have always suffered from acne, but as I age i feel using so many topical treatments is triggering most breaksouts vs being proactive in treating them! I have cut back to spot treating, using purpose face wash and only Simple moisturizer in hopes to allow my skin to correct some of the damage done.

Was actually given advice to use head and shoulders by our family dermatologist. My son has Rosacea and it did fade the redness away.

Try using head and shoulders as a facial wash for at least one bottle, you'll probably notice results before you finish the bottle though. It works for me, I've been rosasea free for about a year without any other treatments, creams or med's

for the past year i've been getting acne, never had it as a teen but i think its the environment that i'm working in now, that made me break out so many pimples. when the pimple is gone it leaves a very ugly dark mark in my face. i've been using H&S for the past 3 days and it works i never had a breakout since (never have i left it on for more then just a few seconds)but my face burnt of it and left me with a horrible scare on my face. im still using it though. can anyone recommend something to remove the ugly dark darks and scare

It is worth a try. Rosacea is treated with antibiotics. Head and Shoulders has two brands, one with a zinc base and the other a sulfide. Both ingredients are antibiotics. I visited a dermatologist recently who prescribed a steroid cream for a persistant flaky spot on my face. He also noticed I have rosacea but I cannot be treated for either appropriately because I am pregnant. He said to use the steroid cream in addition to the sulfide based Head and Shoulders on my hair in the meantime. He said he did not know why, but when used together it works better. I did not feel comfortable using the steroid cream weekly - so I will try the shampoo on my face for a week or two and see what happens. I just add one drop to my regular facial cleanser. We'll see.
I use it on my face and it makes it worse then before.not sure what works but not head & shoulders.
