I'm not familiar with their being any effects on the teeth and gums from RA, but if you haven't found them yet, here are a few good RA websites where you might try looking:

Yes it can as it causes systemic inflammation in the body, I had RA for 17 years before abandoning the mainstream drugs and trying a strick Gluten free diet with daily green vegetable juicing. No dairy, refined sugars, caffeine etc. In addition I use Neprinol enzymes, Samento and mangosteen as well as a whole food vitamin/mineral supplement. I agree with Dan. I have a friend with an amazing story about Mangosteen and her RA. This just happened a few weeks ago:

In response to teeth and gums, yes I know I have rhuematoid and chronic fatigue, sinus problems that have promoted tooth decay. Bacterial response taking over because immune system low.

Yes! You must tell your dentist to prescribe a special toothpaste to build up your enamel (if needed) and also watch for very dry mouth. Extra care to keep them clean. Go to web-site about teeth health and R.A.

hey guys, i am new to this....i have just been told that i have a "weakly" positive rheumatoid factor.....i have very little joint pain but my SI joints stay inflamed and painful all the time. My rheumatologists says that RA doesn't really effect the lower back. Anyone else have this experience.......do i have RA or possilby AS?

May I ask all of you something rather personal? Have you ever had a root canal done? And if yes, how many before the onset of RA?

I have beautiful teeth, but only on the outside. A few of them look white, but are dead. I can still vividly remember the onset of RA after a root canal procedure.
