Has anyone has recent experience (during 2010) with Greenlight Laser PVP procedure? Most of the information I could find was during 2007 and I would like current information on this treatment.
Thanks.

Hi,
I had my treatment on Dec 14 2010.
Was released the same day with a catheter.
The Catheter was taken out after 5 days.
On the positive my flow has been the best it's ever been. However 6 weeks in I, still having problems.
Have had 2 UTI, still have some blood but is improving. Sexual disfunction it also there but hope that will go away soon.
My major issue is the many trips to the bathroom and the leaking (you need to retrain the bladder I'm told). Its been difficult to get control.
I've been told to work on it but it still a problem for me.

Bottom line is only do this if its necessary and expect 2 to 3 months for thing to get better.
I'm 6 weeks in and hope these issues improve soon.

I had the procedure done three weeks ago. I am getting up four or five times at nights. I am still taking Cardura for BPH and the stream is not much better, if at all. The urgency is worst than before and I am leaking, which I didn't do before and dribble after peeing.
Is there any hope, or did I make a mistake in having this Greenlight Laser procedure done?

I had the procedure done on the first of March. The urgency is worst than before the procedure and if I don't hurry, I will leak. The doc gave me some medicine to help with the urgency, but it made it worse. I get up five to six times at night and I still have to take Cardura that I was taking before for BPH. My stream is still weak and is not getting a large volume.
The Doc said that it takes time and that your bladder was "unhappy" because of the procedure and that some people's bladder never gets "happy."(Very encouraging.Sounds like BS to me)
Hope you guys have better results than me. Good luck.
