I had it done this last Tuesday. It didn't hurt much but was very uncomfortable. My apprehension may have made it worse. I was anti biots for 20 days previously to rule out infection of the gland for a new psa test which still came in at 5.4. I took an additional (concurrent) antibiotic two days before biop through two days prior.

I was able to pee before leaving the doc's office. I was told to expect blood in my pee which started several hours after the biop and continues to present.

the day following the biop i felt sicky (headache, etc) and my temp was 99.9 ranging up to 101.2. I didn't do much, just hanging around and feeling miserable and couldn't sleep. Thursday night my temp came down to norm and I had a good sleep. Friday, I felt better.

however, I am still peeing blood.(I understand this may continue for a week or two). however, I have a urgency to go very frequently. Last night was a bad night, I must have been up a dozen or more times. When I go, i can't just relax. I find myself pushing and it feels like i am trying to force pee out.

At the same time, I am having difficulty making a bowel movement. Ironically, I haven't eaten much and continue loosing weight.(that is a good thing as I'm on a program (Atkins)which allowed me to drop 60 lbs since Jan 1.) Up till the need for a biop, i had never felt better in years. not eating much over the week, yielded a 5 or so lbs loss.(Don't worry, I have plenty to spare)

however, even with he weight loss, I feel bloated and my pants which were comfortable are now tight in my stomach. As I type this I want to sit down for a bowl movement, but several trips to the can didn't produce anything and I don't want to force.

Yes, I am drinking lots of water. Because I am going pee so often I was tempted to cut back on water but realize that would be a mistake.

Of course, I have the inconvenience of spotting blood in my underpants or dripping on the edge of the toilet both get me scolding by the wife. I'm wearing a pad but "it" tends to flop around and I still spot the areas around the pad. This is probably the least of my worries as when this clears up, I'll buy some new tidy whities.

I am worried about the bloating, difficulty to poop and the urge to force pee after the first drips of blood come out. Any thoughts? Oh, I'm 66 yrs old.
