Prosavin is still in early clinical trials. Six people treated so far. All are French nationals. Improvement has been roughly 30% with all six even though the first three patients had only half the dose of the second six.

There is an application pending to the French clinical trial body to try a third dose which will be 500% of the amount given to the first 3 patients.

so does this mean that the amount of dose didn't make any real difference ?

That is not clear yet. It may be that the dose limit has been reached and it may be that the method of injection stopped a bigger dose from working better than the smaller dose.

The application is to now increase the dose and change the injection method of delivery.

You are most welcome. Please remember it is an early trial and even though the six people treated so far have maintained good improvement for around a year now, it still needs to be proven in large numbers and a double blind study.

If you are interested further you can google Professor Stéphane Palfi who is the French doctor running the trial or look at the website of Oxford Biomedica who are the company that developed the drug.

As a Nurse Practitioner I am very interested in this trial.Although in its early stages hopefully it will prove useful in the treatment of this condition. It may take may years before management of PD symptoms improve.Hopefully Prosavin is the way forward.
