What a laugh. Most of you wouldn't know a 5ht or an mu-1 receptor from a touchdown reception. You're a bunch of honorary doctors with degrees from Google. Geez.

I have read alot here about people getting on Subs to get off opiates. Guess what? Your only trading one drug for another. Sure they help you from taking the other opiates, but if you stay on them longer than 7-10 days the withdrawal is just as bad if not worse. I have been down every road for quitting opiates including cold turkey, methadone, and Subs. The Methadone and the Subs were absolute hell to get away from and the withdrawal from both of them were 5 times longer than just gutting it out and quitting cold turkey. I have now been clean for 3 years and I done it by weening myself from 20-25 7.5's a day down to just 2 for the final 2 weeks. It took me aproxamitly 2 1/2 mos. to do and once I stopped all together the withdrawal was very minimal and nothing nobody can't handle. My suggestion is to be strong, control yourself and stay away from subs. I know how hard it is I've been through it several times but it can be done. Life does get back to normal.

I am very interested in doing business with you sir. I would be more than happy to take those little oxys off your hands. We can set it up through the U.S. Postal Service or we can meet, good old fashioned face to face. You can contact me via email at [email protected] and we can finalize some of the specifics. I am looking forward to speaking with you soon!

god help anybody who gets on ultram!
people who say it's not addidtive are just plain idiots.
the withdrawls from ultram are horrific!
getting off lortab and oxy's was a breeze compared to ultram, there's an emotional and psychological component to ultram that you don't get with narcotics. it took me a year to feel normal again after quitting ultram. because of the horrible w/d's i was on and off it for 8 years til i finally kicked it.It had a hold on me like nothing else.if you're thinking of trying this drug don't say that i didn't warn you. STAY AWAY!

tramadol is a peice of piss! there was an article here that was documenting withdrawl from it, 1 out of 103ppl i thinkh had wd's...

try withdrawl from 800 mgs oxy iv per day , or even 130mg methadone,or wait, try feeling some precipitated wd's from having subs too early.....once u have felt them, then u can maybe argue tramadol wd's are horrific if u stil beleive so.
seriously, dont put ppl off it cos of ur experience, withdrawl from oxy is gauranteed, wd from tram is not

Yes, I imagine the WD's from IV'ing 800mgs of oxys a day would be pretty intense but why does everyone feel the need to brag about how intense their WD's were?
I shot 100mgs/day of oxys for about 6 months and then quit cold turkey and I have to say that quitting 750mgs/day of tramadol gave me worse WD's and they lasted MUCH longer.
Based on my personal experience whenever someone asks me about tramadol I tell them to be very careful because you most definitely build up a physical dependency to them and the WD's make them very hard to quit.
You post just came across to me as very dumb.... "dont put ppl off it cos of ur experience"....???HUH....
Instead of reading a lab study to see if it causes physical dependency you should talk to someone who has taken 500mgs/day for a few months and see what they have to say about it.

Are you not supposed to mix Ultram with methadone? I did this and felt terrible. Someone told me that the Ultram makes the methadone stop working and you go into withdrawls. Any advice would be appreciated.

What is really sad about this is Ultram was FDA approved as a non-narcotic, non-addictive alternative to opioid analgesics.

Ultram can never change who you really are inside. If you can successfully complete a drug treatment and rehabilitation program you will take the first steps to reclaiming your life.

Sorry you feel so bad about yourself. If it helps, no one makes a "choice" to become addicted to medication. Addiction is a disease, not a condition, and needs to be treated like any other illness. You can be well, but only you can make the decision to seek help and commit to it.

Best of luck.

I have never taken any kind of recreatonal drug before in my life. But 3 years ago I was prescribed Tramadol post abdo surgery. (800 MGS A DAY)I never took more than that. I stopped a few times and my abdo pain came back. But now I knw the pain wasn't the original surgical pain but withdrawals. I tried to stop taking them but thought I was going to die. It is sooo bad--do not take this drug. I have been in medical detox for 8 days and out for 10and I still can't sleep, cramps esp abdo, restless legs--it is pure hell. And noone can tell me when it will end.

it will get better day by day....
i get tramadol sometimes and normally just down the whole bottle at once if i am struggling, it doesnt really even touch the insides for me...
but i do acknowledge it can cause withdrawls but thats no reason to put the drug down as all opiates will cause withdrawl if stopped suddenly and although tramal isnt a true opiate, it works on the opiate receptors and stops the production of endorphins therefore the wd's that follow...

day by day is the best advice anyone can offer you...
either that or knock off a bottle of valium and knock ur self out!lol

<quoted text> I was on hydocodine for 12 years and built up to 10 (7.5) in the last 4 years. I did a cold turkey detox and laid in the back room on a couch for 10 days. The doctor gave me just on 50mg on Ultram and all the pain is gone. Is this drug really better? It is working so well but this is hard to believe this is all it took after all these years. I am sorry to sound silly but I did pray each time a ran out of pain pills due to family members taking them even if it left me in pain I wonder if my pain was not as bad as I thought or is this drug just as powerful. HELP with more information. PS Family members are no longer coming to see me. Gee, I wonder why? Marie

My name is Derek and I can tell you that I have used Ultram and a tapering plan with my doctor to get me off of hydrocdone(10)which I was abusing. 8-10 per day. The ultram helped a great deal and I stil take it now as directed. Everyone is different, I guess.
