Shapeworks diet.. Wouldn't say it's a fad cause it's proven and its used by hundreds of thousands of people all-over ;)

Really good balanced nutrition for athletes or anyone.. but it focuses mainly on weightloss and has had great results.

One of my friends from pluscupid.com told me about belly-dancing. I tried for nearly two months, and enjoy it very much.

For me, Zumba kept me motivated enough to lose 35 pounds in less than 6 months. It was so different and fun...like a party...that I wanted to Zumba all the time...and still do. I dance when I'm cooking, with my kids, in class, and I loved it so much I decided to get certified as an instructor. It's so versatile that you never get bored...salsa, merengue, cha cha, hip hop, belly, samba, calypso, funk, all kinds of international dances. Now that I teach twice a week and have to practice my choreography to prepare each lesson, I'm losing more! What started as a free trial at Bally's became a life changing experience for me. I am beaming with energy now...and I have 3 kids and a full-time job. But if you find an activity that you LOVE, you will find a way to incorporate into your life, and that in turn is healthy for your family because you will influence them to be physically active too.

I found my best help was when I found a Doctor on the Web at MyDietSolutions.com I've been taking the B12 + Lipotropics and have lost 20 POUNDS in 12 weeks. The kicker is, 2-3 of those weeks I was off the shots because of some major xrays and testing I had to go through... but I didn't gain or lose during that time of not taking injections. Then when I got back on them, the weight started coming off again. I was totally convinced at that point that the stuff WORKS!!

Let tell you this A fad deit will only hurt you and if you do it that way it will come back on you plus more. I have been looking for a forum so I can share my story I hope Help you all. I have lost 220 lbs in 28 months I still need to loose 50 pounds I went from 420lbs plus in aug 2005( i stop looking at the scale at 420) to200lbs in Aug 2007 without surgery, It has been hard and I am disabled, The thing that pushed me was they told me I was going to die if I did not do something, so I did. I will be glad to offer any adivce to anyone that like it and tell you how I did it and still am doing it. But it is something I do for the rest of my life. OHH and one more thing what I do is all natural, No need to buy anthing or get shots or buy diet pills or diet cookies or anything else, It is just you and your body and yourself control. If anyone is interested I wait and see if i get a reply on this thread.

Couldn't agree with you more, Tuvok! A fad diet is usually going to pack it right back on you. Been there... done that... was sick of it! Was sick of all the multi-level junk that I bought into. The injections I'm taking have gotten the seal of approval by my Cardiologist, Endocrinologist, and Primary Care Physician. They aren't getting a penny from the shots since I order them online... they're actually losing money due to my weight loss (no more high BP, high cholesterol, migraines). The B12 and Lipotropics are simply supporting my body while I have been making LIFESTYLE CHANGES... just like you obviously have! I'm a firm believer that if "We Do Our Part" then God takes care of the rest. I'm doing my part... exercise, diet, water intake, nutrition. And PTL... He's doing above and beyond!!

I was on a 1200 calorie a day diet for 2 years, right now I am on 800 calorie a day diet,People go WHAT, but I still eat a lot if you know what to eat. I got to 200 pounds and stopped lossing weight. I have to loose 50 more pounds for health reasons, because of my spinal cord. I ride my bike 10 miles a day weather permitting but I can not walk very far when I have to walk. Each person has to find what works for them. Water is the big part, I found threw my doctor the water was a big important part of the diet. People always say I CAN NOT DO THAT.. But can they die, Can they get sick and pay all that money for pills and doctors bills and hospital bills and for things that they do not understand that will happen to them. Since I have become Disabled I do volunteer work in a Hospital Care Center. I work with every people from The mentally Ill to people that have been in car wreaks and strokes and that are so obese they can not walk or even move any more. It is so sad when I see people like this, They have given up on there selfs. That is Why I try and talk to anyone that will listen to me. I have been there and I have seen the results of what can happen if you let yourself go.

Tuvok,
Do you think maybe your calories are too low?? I know my Doctor at MDS says that 1,000 are the bare minimum to function fuel-efficiently each day otherwise your body starts handing onto the calories in a sort of panic mode. Same thing with water (that's so wierd... drink more water in order to lose more water... but it works!).
I haven't weighed this week yet (Saturday's my weigh-in date) but I've really bumped up my treadmill workout to an hour and upped the speed a bit and the incline... so hopefully the scales will be nice to me!!
Best wishes on your Doctor's appointment

No They are fine even at 800 I eat a lot! I know how to pick an choose enough to eat that much that I am full, I even ride a bicycle 10 miles a day when the weather is nice, but still amd stuck at my present weight. I do not go hungry. It is a matter of knowing how to understand to count your calories and what to eat. Right know I have not been able to ride for the last 3 weeks due to bad weather thou. I also do not eat after 5 Pm and not before 7 AM.

Fad diets all work and ultimatly fail.
No matter the gimmick you have to follow them to the letter and add excercise.
Low or high fat, prtien, carb or any combination theres always one common denominator other than excercise.
Aprox. 1200 calories.
Instead of depriving yourself of the food you love eat 1200 calories of what you like as almost everyone goes back to eating what they like.
Wheather you eat 1200 cals. of kit kat bars or broccoli your gonna lose the same amount of weight.
All these diets are trying to sell product whether its pre packaged meals, books of meals, wheel a meals or any other thing you have to buy from them.
Your body will level at its own best weight and anything after that will require unhealthy methods if your looking into the Flockhart body.
Don't go by charts or people mag. to retain your ideal weight.

Well I am ot sure who you are speaking to but I am not on a fad diet, I am on a life change diet and I have been on it for 28 months, I almost diead at my last weight of over 420lbs. now at 200lbs and under doctor care, I do not go by charts or magazines but I do go by what my Doctor say i need to weight and the BMI index. But you are wrong about the difference it makes between a Kit Kat bar and freah veggies, candy will never do you any good. How ever in saying that even I get the graven for a peace of candy ever so often, When I do, I get what I what, I eat half of it and throw the other half away.

Tuvok,
I'm sure that you know your own body... and if 800 is what you can function at, then you go for it! The biking distance is very inspirational... you're definitely not a quiter! You have found what works for you, and most likely the bad weather has probably set your weightloss back for a little bit since you can't bikeride.

I weigh in on Saturday and am curious to see how I've done this week. In any case... I've gone from 189 and sickly to 167 and feeling better than I have in 20 years... can't imagine how I'll feel when the rest comes off. My waist has gone from 41" (actually was larger before I started to keep record of it) and now it's 36". The doctor added B6 to the mix last week and I really noticed the increase in energy this week...
