This story is, unfortunately, a collection of UVA propaganda sold to a gullible set of reporters. The Interlaced Therapy that Tau Therapeutics (a UVA start-up company) is developing with its UVA inventor-scientists is only an adjuvant to traditional chemotherapy. It will synchronize cells (not just cancer cells) for better killing during chemotherapy, but it is by no means a revolutionary cure. In the future when custom-targeted medicines are used, doctors will place chemotherapy alongside other venerable cures for cancer such as bloodletting.

I have to agree with you. Cancer will have to defeated on the molecular level and that will be a tough one. Our local reporters are essentially kids and they print what someone hands them----not their fault but station management's editorial policies around here are atrocious. Disinformation reigns.

Eighty years ago cancer was fought with surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, the same treatments used today. Individualized drugs like Provenge are the first faltering steps towards a real cure.

I can't remark about the slow developement of cancer treatments but I can agree with the yellow journalism that takes place around here.
