In 1981 I was 30 years old and newly married. I gave up on having children and consented to a hysterectomy (the removal of my uterus ONLY) to stop the horrific pain from advanced Endometriosis. The GYN (Dr F W McLean of Gainesville, Florida) instead removed all of my female organs except the vagina. He told my husband while I was in recovery that he'd be taking home a different wife and he should be understanding. McLean was able to neuter/castrate me because of one single phrase in the permission form I signed: medically necessary as deemed by the physician. McLean ruined my life. In no way, shape or form would I have consented to what he did to me. I trusted him to do what he told me he would do. I hope he rots in hell. How many other of his trusting patients over all the decades of his medical practice has he mutilated? Probably thousands. And he is just one doctor among thousands of them. The numbers of those brutalized is mind-bogglingly terrifying.

Dr. McLean delivered my first child in a very difficult and dangerous medical situation. I have always believed that he saved my son's life and perhaps my own. I will always be very thankful to him.
