Solution for pain from OA in both knees? (other than meds and surgery)

I was shocked when last year I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both knees. I'm only 43! My knees have ached occasionally over the years but it hurts now to just walk, sit, stand or ride a bike. The pain is sometimes so massive it wakes me out of my sleep.

In order to keep the pain under control I require a daily dose of drugs for the rest of my life. I've been told it'll only get worse. Sometimes I feel so frustrated about this and worry about the future. I just can't believe there is no solution other than killing myself!

Thank you Ali, it sounds great! I think I'll give it a try, and I don't care how much it costs because the pain is unbearable, i must do something.

Sorry to hear about your pain. Did you find a solution?

Dear Juldre, yes, I found a solution!
I was really desperate and began surfing the internet to find any information. I read hundreds of forums, blogposts, numerous e-books on osteorthritis, I watched youtube videos and I learned that OA can be cured if I completely change my diet and lifestyle. It was in April when I started my "new" life (eliminating grains and processed sugars, eating tons of fruits and veggies, taking up yoga classes, etc) and since then the pain has ceased to such an extent that last week I was hiking with my friends in the mountains! OK, I was cheating a bit because I used walking poles, but still I could walk 6 miles! In winter I was hardly able to get out of bed because of the pain, so I'm really proud of myself now. It was a hell of a long way to my recovery and it truly takes perseverance and compassion towards one self to get there.

Hope came back to my life after reading Margie Garrison's "I Cured My Arthritis You Can Too". The most informative and useful material I've found so far was Teo Galfrie's "Arthritis Is Curable", I'd definitely recommend you to start with that e-book. If I were you, I would also get familiar with the paleo diet. "Mark's Daily Apple" is my favourite paleo website with tonnes of fantastic info. This website's owner also had severe OA and could cure it with only eating meat, fruits and veggies. Furthermore it's worth checking out the Weston A. Price Foundation's website. Hope I could help you!
