Hi, My name is Mark. I was hit by a car while walking and by the grace of God I only came out with one broken left forearm fracture and lower lumbar back sprain. However now, I found out I have arthritis after a x-ray. The doctor said it probably was already there but I never noticed the pain until it was aggravated due to the impact and back pain. I have a lot of pain now (only after 1 month of the accident!) going down my left leg down to my ankle which is hurting bad! I put ICY HOT on it for now. I also have darveset for my pain. My question: Has anyone ever heard of Traumatic Arthritis in the leg due to a car accident where initially the point of impact was in one part of the body and not in the area where the arthritis is?

Osteoarthritis doesn’t lead to other types of joint disease and won’t spread through your body. However, deformity caused by osteoarthritis in your leg may mean you put more pressure on your other joints, which could result in osteoarthritis in those joints.
