My personal favorite lyric misquote is from the Beatle's song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." Instead of the real lyric "the girl with kaleidascope eyes," the misheard lyric is "the girl with colitis goes by."

My first mondegreen: 1966, Herman's Hermits. She's a Must To Avoid was heard as "She's a Muscular Boy, a complete impossibilty....."
