Hi everyone
I opened this discussion for users of Modafinil (not suppliers) to discuss their experiences with the many brands available and discuss the effects. |

All the India-manufactured generics (by Cipla, Sun Pharma, Intas) work as well for me. I recently switched to a more effective means of ingestion: sublingual. Place the tablet under your tongue and let it dissolve there. This way it goes directly into the bloodstream, avoiding stomach acids. The Intas 100mg. tabs are mint-flavored, so they apparently had this method in mind.

I found the Modiodal made by Cephalon (under license to Armstrong) better than the Generic brands Modalert and Modapro made by India. In fact, I may have acquired tinnitus from the cheap versions but can't be sure. www.medsmex.com seems to have cheapest Branded drug as it's made in Mexico so I guess they have more freedom to reduce the price. Urantiapharma were ok for 2 batches but one batch turned up from Fiji and was the wrong brand (modalert instead of modapro) so I wasn't pleased about that. I have doubts about the modalert which comes in the foil wrap.

Most of us seek generics because of price (not just for modafinil). In the US the least expensive price for Provigil 100mg. is US$7.66 PER TABLET. In India the India Federal Government sets the MAXIMUM retail price for modafinil 100mg. at 7 rupees, or a little over US$0.14. That's a difference of 5471%! Several major pharmacies in the US (CVS, Rite-Aid, and others) have just jointly brought suit against Cephalon for bribing generic manufacturers to delay making modafinil. This is in addition to a similar suit brought by the US Federal Trade Commission. In spite of Cephalon's vast profits from Provigil, we'll see how long they can hold up.

Where have you found Provigil domestically for $7.66? I would GLADLY pay this! The least expensive I can find around me is around $12.20

You are probably thinking of 200mg. tabs, which are more common than 100mg. You can find retail prices at http://www.destinationrx.com/druginfo.aspx... |

Yikes, I tried the medsmex site and the modafinil was quite expensive. I have found it cheaper at http://www.onlinegenerics.net I like the Modalert better than the Modapro (personally) but interested in what is up with NuVigil. I have heard it is by the same people that make Provigil. Makes me mad they are keeping the price so high. Ugh.. will stick with Modalert for now.

The Modiodal from www.medsmex.com is $3.90/200mg tablet ($1.95 per 100mg tablet) and is not generic. For the Cephalon licensed drug, it's the cheapest. If anyone has any cheaper supplier, please post. Suppliers should see that they will get more money by reducing the prices, not increasing.

Unfortunately, Modiodal is simply Modafinil. There is no generic for Provigil or Nuvigil. So Modalert, Modapro and Modiodal are just forms of the compound, Modafinil.$3.90 is very pricey for a drug that is simply modafinil. At http://www.onlinegenerics.net you can buy Modalert (by Cipla) for 1.62 per pill. That is for a 200mg tablet. A pretty good deal compared to Provigil (ridiculous) which is why you should not have to pay $3.90 for Modiodal which itself is a modafinil compound.
|
||||
They are ALL the compound modafinil. Nuvigil is one of the two molecular isomers in modafinil which has been isolated. Modafinil is modafinil, just as aspirin is aspirin, which is why you should buy the least expensive generic by a reputable manufacturer, from ANY country. |

anyone here also have apnea? the provigil made a nice difference in the afternoons. was getting samples from the doc for a bit. then everything shifted about 1 yr ago and samples were reserved for free clinics and the less fortunate. i'm the middle fortunate i suppose and can not pay these prices. had modapro/cipla for awhile from a canadian place. they abruptly quit carrying modapro. now that i've looked, the prices are certainly better elsewhere. question: can the modalert also be sublingual easily? i.e., is that ok.
