Hello

I have Narcolepsy, and have been taking 45mg Dexedrine for about 2 Years. I weight about 265LBs, so this dose pretty much keeps me awake and thats it. Today, I was due to refil my script, I had called twice, and receptionist said she would let DR know. However, when I drove to Dr office, there was nothing there and Dr was at lunch. I went back after work, and receptionist said that Dr couldn't fill it b/c it was two days to early and doctor went home. They stated that RX was filled on 5th, but I am sure it was the 3rd. At any rate, it was 5:00Pm at this time, and I hadn't had any Medication to this point. I asked to see

I commute 30 minutes each way to work every day, and my Doctor is in the city that I work in. I explained that driving w/o any med was VERY dangerous.

I also explained that there was no way I could work w/o it (I am a teacher). We just started the school year,(third day) and I have been on thin ice due to my condition in the recent past. The receptionist did not miss a beat and said that legally, the other doctor couldn't write anything. I again stated plain and simple that driving w/o my meds is life threatening to me or someone else. "MMMM, yeah, sorry, thanks for coming in, though.. " I began to drive home, but called my wife to come get me after waking up riding the yellow and veering just in time to escape a head on with a large U haul truck.

Soooo, now it seems my choice for this week is

1) Keep my job and endanger myself and other drivers
2) Stay home but risk repercussions at work.

I am not a GD drug addict. The worst part about it is that they strung me along all day until it was too late to try to find another dr.

That doctor needs a foot in his ass, or a baseball bat upside his head. maybe that would straighten him out

I am dealing with a Doctor who promised to fill my prescription but every month he refuses to fill it and I end up in his office. I have chronic pain and without meds I would have to collect dissability. I am sick of being treated like an addict. I am not. I do though have chronic pain and this med is the only one that works. I am in again tomorrow as he has rejected my monthly prescription for no reason.
