Oh thanks Vik. I'll stick with GoodhealthPharmacy though just because I know they are a reputable pharmacy and I'm living overseas and don't think your company delivers here. :) Thanks for the info though.

I've tried the expensive Modavigil and the cheap Modalert. The Modalert doesn't do a thing, whatever it is, it's fake.
If you google, stacks of places are advertising the stuff cheap, which I suspect the market has been flooded with fake junk.
The funny thing is I bought the good and fake stuff from the same place.

The Modafinil I purchased from Good health pharmacy is REAL. It's manufactured by Sun Pharmaceuticals - and is reputable, fda-approved, etc. I've been ordering from them for a while and have had no problems or complaints yet.:)

ps - how did you know the stuff was fake? did it just have no affect on you?

Hi just to add something to this discussion. While i was living in the USA I got the ALERTEC brand of Provigil which I took as 1x100mg per day and it did wonders! No major side effects as far as I can recall. Now that I live in Europe I had to settle for the Modalert stuff from India. That stuff gives me a buzz for a while BUT causes these rather serious side effects:
Diarrhea(lasts the whole day!), Nausea (almost for the whole day), Depression and confusion, irritability, unwilingness to talk to anyone etc.
By the way I am not taking anything else but I do take caffeine and smoke cigarettes as I did back in the US.
So my advice is to NOT buy Modalert, it is so cheap for a reason!
Cheers

Hi, I got modalert from USA Discreet meds, there the cheapest around and thought it worked as well as modafinil, just a lot cheaper. Been using it for about 3 months and haven;t had any nasty side effects yet, good luck.

I purchased Modalert thru Pharmacyrxworld.com . My 17 yr old daughter & I both have narcolepsy--me to a much more severe degree. My insurance covers it for me--not for my daughter--even though she meets the criteria. We are in a legal battle right now but she needed it--made all the difference in high sch. for her--She feels the modalert (200 mg 2X daily) doesn't have the same effect as Provigil at same dose. I take 350 mg daily-so I take 150 Provigil in am and 200 mg Modalert in pm to see difference--I feel very strongly the Modalert is not working as well. How can I find out the chemical composition of it since it mfg'd in India? I am very concerned -- she really needs this.

I have been purchasing Modafinil from HealthPlus Pharmacy for several years. Recently, I made a purchase from them and was sent a different brand, Modapro. This is some bad, fake medicine. It causes bad nausea and other horrible side effects. It reminds me of some old souped up caffine pills. I would suggest finding a pharmacy that is still distributing modafinil. BEWARE of the MODAPRO packaged in a lavender-box. The box says its manufactured by Cipla, but this could be a fake to.

I disagree. The only version of this drug I've ever tried is Modalert, and it works fine for me. For me the usefulness of the drug has less to do with staying awake and more to do with it's other benefits. Increased alertness, mood, and thought clarity during the day.

modalert manufactured by sun pharma, in India, is just as good as the expensive name brand. I thought the sun pharma brand (modalert)was better than the 300 buck rip off brand. But buy whatever you want, it's your money1

I bought some cheap Modalert off a company based in Cyprus in December. I have one low limit credi card I use just for internet purchases. In January I had three unauthorised payments made to online gambling casinos totaling just over £400.($800).
I hadn't used that card for some months before. The card company repaid paid me. The police think my card details were taken from an online purchase.

Don't buy cheap.

I bought 30 200mg modafinil from an online pharmacy called urantiapharma (or something like that), it cost me 50 euros with delivery (I'm in the UK so came up on my credit card as about £35, which is about $70). I knew it would be generic, but as I don't have narcolepsy, and only wanted to use it as a lifestyle drug to help me at college that didn't bother me. First they sent Modapro, I took 200mg, and it seemed to work fine! Another 200mg taken at 5pm kept me working all night.

However, AVOID this online pharmacy, they recently charged my credit card again and send me more tablets (Modalert this time), without me ordering them!

I am sorry to hear of your bad experiences. My son and I have been taking the india versins for a couple of years with great results. It has been a life saver for us.

I had been order from inhousepharmacy, but when I tried to order today it didn't show up on their list. I am going to try some of the links you wonderful people have posted.

Thanks for being there. This is a tough condition to manage.

I have used modafinil for several years now and purchased brand name Provigil in Florida, Modalert and Modial in Europe, and Sun Pharma's generic on-line. I think they are all real modafinil, but in my opinion only the US brand name Provigil is up to par in strength. And big news: In House Pharmacy, a good low cost source of Sun Pharma, says it has been discontinued. Another good reliable source, Night and Day Pharmacy,(day and night?) also discontinued. I have a strong feeling Cephalon, the US patent holder, is the reason. So if you are able to find modafinil cheaply right now, buy it up! Cephalon just got their provigil replacement drug, nuvigil, approved, in preparation for generic provigil's release in the US. nuvigil is just an isomer of modafinil, slight stronger and longer lasting. Isomers are a common way for drug makers to stretch brand name sales.

I wanted to try modafinil to try to ward off some of the effects of sleep deprivation as I am only able to get 3-5 hours of sleep a night because I work long hours, and I have a 3 year old that makes me get up early in the morning. I purchased 200 mg Modalert from Inhouse last month and it did not work at all. All it did for me is give a stomach ache and a headache, and I felt even more tired. I suspect the modalert from Inhouse has been discontinued because it is counterfeit.

I've been using 200 mg Modapro, Cipla's branded modafinil (generic Provigil) for a couple of months. There is no discernible difference between Modapro and Provigil; they are chemically and quantitatively the same medication, at the same dosage. Cipla is a highly reputable pharmaceutical manufacturer with numerous accolades from the medical and pharmaceutical profession. Check out their website for verification. The meds I get all have a lot number and expiration date, and are packaged in foil-backed blister cards of 10, 3 cards to a box of 30. The price is much lower than Provigil. The Modapro does everything Provigil does, and I have not experienced any adverse reaction or unpleasant side effects. There are a number of online sources; I use Freedom Pharmacy.

The reason inhouse pharmacy discontinued their sell of Modalert is because the DEA contacted them and told them they would be shut down if they continued shipping it to the US. I called Inhousepharm and that is what the person who answered the call told me. It is not that it does not work. I used to take it all the time. It works. This medication is probably not addictive in the physical sense, but it does have a substantial abuse potential, especially if you are prone to drug abuse. Its effects were very similiar to cocaine for me. Also, if you are bi-polar, it will cause you to become manic. I ran for days without sleep on this stuff one time. Finally, I started hallucinating, and lost my ability to tell what day it was. I am an attorney, and I showed up to Federal Court on a Sunday to argue a case. It was freakin awesome!!!

Just to let you all know, if you shop at inhousepharmcy from a country other than the US, you can place an order for modafinil still. Just contact them and they place a private order still.

Its due to it being a controlled substance in the states now.
