I knew this was going to happen. A couple of months ago i went to the gyno, and got a pelvic. My doctor told me about Gardasil. She said that it would prevent some of the tyes of HPV, but not all. I said ok, ya know i would think about it. Then i asked her if there were any side effects, and she told me, they didn't really know, long term... it completely turned me off. I dont think it is right for anyone to be able to mandate someone elses life. I can't believe it's even an issue, if parents want there children protected i can understand, but pap smears and pelvic exams are just starting to become routine for young girls, why are drug companies with inconclusive studies trying to mess it up. The truth is we dont really know about this vaccine yet!

I THINK THE UNITED STATES IS ONE OF THE MOST PERVERTED AND SEXUALLY SICK COUNTRIES IN THE WHOLE WORLD WHEN THEY THINK THEY CAN FORCE THE PEOPLE TO BRING THEIR CHILDREN TO HAVE PELVIC EXAMS AT SUCH YOUNG AGE, ESPECIALLY YOUNG GIRLS TO BE FINGERED AND PROBED BY MALE DOCTORS. SHAME ON THIS FUCKING DEGENERATE WEBSITE AND SHAME ON THE SO CALLED DOCTORS IN THIS WEBSITE. I WILL REPORT THIS AND MAKE SURE TO SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT SUCH LOW LIFE NATION. HOW HORRIBLE AND HUMILIATING MUST BE FOR THESE CHILDREN TO HAVE THEIR LITTLE VAGINAS FINGERED, PROBED, SPREAD, POKED AND VIOLATED. SHAME ON YOUR SICK COUNTRY. GO TO HELL AND DIE. THE UNITED STATES IS A NATION OF CHILD MOLESTERS!!!!

There are still good people here with morals that don't want this. I'm ashamed to be in a country that encourages these behaviors. Many people have died after recieving this vaccine, and have had bad side effects. I wouldn't trust this vaccine because these people are not telling the truth about what happened. It is suspicious to me that the government would force girls to recieve this vaccine for several reasons. Girls who are not sexually active should be able to make a choice. Girls with hpv already don't need it anyway because they already have it the vaccine would be useless. Anyone can get cancer it doesn't have to be cervical. How about parents, and our society teach kids to hold their virginity until marriage, and stop teasing kids on wether they are virgins. Being a virgin is the best marriage gift you can give to a partner. Pelvic exams shouldn't even be needed, and it is sickening.

I am not sure i am understanding this thread properly, so please dont jump down my throat if i have misunderstood.
Here in the UK, the Government are offering all girls from 12 to 15, the chance to have injections with a vaccine to prevent cervical cancer. Just recently we have lost a few celebrities that have died at a very young age from cervical cancer, so it is focussed on everyone's mind.
My husband & i decided that the girls should have the vaccine, which is given in the schools.
There is or was certainly no intimate examination or anything like that. In fact we were told there is no need for any form of gyno exam until the girl becomes sexually active.
We were not made aware of any possible side effects, but thought the chance to reduce the risks of them contracting cancer later on, would be greatly reduced.
Of course, like all good parents we teach the girls to cherish their virginity & behave appropriately, but we thought this vaccine was to prevent them from developing cervical cancer at a later age.

Not sure why these didn't post in order....
From the CDC:
Reports of Health Concerns Following HPV Vaccination
On this Page
HPV Vaccine Safety
VAERS Reports Following Gardasil®
VAERS Reports Following Cervarix®
VAERS data cannot be used to prove a causal association between the vaccine and the adverse event. The only association between the adverse event and vaccination is temporal, meaning that the adverse event occurred sometime after vaccination. Therefore, the adverse event may be coincidental or it may have been caused by vaccination, however we cannot make any conclusions that the events reported to VAERS were caused by the vaccine.
HPV Vaccine Safety
There are two licensed HPV vaccines, Gardasil® and Cervarix®, available to protect against the types of HPV infection that cause most cervical cancers. Gardasil® was licensed for use in females, age 9-26 years in June 2006 and for males age 9-26 years in Oct 2009. Cervarix® was licensed for use in females age 10-25 in October 2009.
The safety of HPV vaccines was studied in clinical trials worldwide before licensure. For Gardasil®, over 29,000 males and females participated in these trials. For Cervarix®, over 30,000 females participated in several clinical trials.
Since licensure, CDC and FDA have been closely monitoring the safety of HPV vaccines. There are 3 systems used to monitor the safety of vaccines after they are licensed and used in the U.S. These systems can monitor adverse events already known to be caused by vaccines, as well as detect rare adverse events that were not identified during pre-licensure clinical trials. The 3 systems are:
The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS)–a useful early warning public health system that helps CDC and FDA detect possible side effects or adverse events following vaccination.
The Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) Project–a collaboration between CDC and 10 health care organizations which monitors and evaluates adverse events following vaccination.
The Clinical Immunization Safety Assessment (CISA) Network– a collaboration between 6 academic centers in the U.S. which conduct research on adverse events that might be caused by vaccines.

Reports to VAERS Following Gardasil®
As of September 15, 2011, approximately 40 million doses of Gardasil® were distributed in the U.S. and VAERS received a total of 20,096 reports of adverse events following Gardasil® vaccination: 19,075 reports among females and 569 reports for males, of which 504 reports were received after the vaccine was licensed for males in October 2009. VAERS received 452 reports of unknown gender. Of the total number of VAERS reports following Gardasil®, 92% were considered to be non-serious, and 8% were considered serious.
Non-serious adverse event reports
VAERS defines non-serious adverse events as those other than hospitalization, death, permanent disability, or life-threatening illness.
The vast majority (92%) of the adverse events reports following Gardasil® vaccination were mild and included, pain and swelling at the injection site (the arm), fever, dizziness, nausea, and fainting. Syncope (fainting) is common after injections and vaccinations, especially in adolescents. Falls after fainting may sometimes cause serious injuries, such as head injuries, which can be prevented by closely observing the person for 15 minutes after vaccination.

Oh great! Sorry for the double post

If you get a headache after getting a vaccine, it gets reported in VAERS. Does that mean the headache was caused by the vaccine? Or because you were just hungry?
The vaccine courts are for compensating those who were injured by the vaccine.
Two very different things.

Cause versus coincidence.
Just because you get a headache 3 hours after getting a vaccine, doesn't mean it was caused by the vaccine.
