Oh it definitely helps. I was working at a restaurant many years ago and they cooked with garlic like mad. I noticed that on the nights that I ate a really garlicy dishes my cramps were much better.

I always went home alone. The restaurant was mostly for old people. Had I went home with anyone I would have just been tucking them into bed.

The old people never complained about the garlic? Too spicy all that.

Its sort of true, old people do complain a lot. But often they do have a lot to complain about. The garlic does help though. When I get really bad cramps I put raw garlic in a salad.

Well, you know there is a patch for everything these days. But it does work. It sends electrical signals out that cut down on period pain or should I say agony in my case. Works...

At least you can still get a date, I suppose. Garlic doesn't scare me as much as electricity way down there.

Yes- Garlic can help SOME people. It depends on the source of your cramps. For people who need more grounding it may help. Probably less useful if you have lots of bleeding.
Try cooking the cut up garlic in some milk to make a kind of warm soupy drink - this might cut down on the odor factor-- or you can eat some parsley, which helps with breath problems.

I can see this is a very out of date topic, but maybe there are still those out there still looking for an answer. I started to swallow a garlic clove each evening for high blood pressure problems and allergies. I did not expect the outcome or any impact on my menstrual cycle. Usually I have terrible cramps, heavy flow, and it lasts about a week or more. After 2 weeks of garlic my cramps were mild (for me) and after 4 days I'm done. I really am shocked. Not even when I was on birth control did I have such an easy time of it.
So for all of you with problems, try. I does not smell, as you take it like you would take a pill, in the evening, with water.
