Pius didn't give a damn about the Jews. He only spoke out when he was advised it would be politically beneficial for him to do so.

Bastard! They don't refer to him as "Hitler's Pope" for nothing.

I agree!

It's all about power, not about God's kingdom.

For shame....

..... It's very likely that Pope Pius XII during the Hitler-time in Germany, was doing what was best for the many Roman Catholics in Germany. If he would have shown any friendship with Jews (Jesus and all of the first Christians were Jews!), the alleged "enemies" of Germany, the Catholics in Germany would have suffered. A friend of an enemy is an enemy.

They were all Palestinians. It does not matter by the way. These ,,Jews,, who were killed during II world war were ethnically no Jews, just like majority of these guys who live in Palestina and think that they are Jews are no real offsprings of Jews, who inhabitated those territory ( Province of Rome )in times of Jesus Christ. These ,,Jews,, who were killed during II world war were Europeans: Greeks, Hazara, some Turks, Poles, Germans and other in majority native Europeans who were converted into Judaism in the past centuries. Even if Pope was a coward there were another people who has fought and sacrified their lives just like for instance Sophie Scholl and her brother.
Besides there were and are so many genocides and crimes against humanity commited by another nations just like for instance usa, britain- look at your own past and present history and find that your nations are not many better than hitlerites.

So Catholics are willing to let millions of Jews be slaughtered to avoid a similar fate. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the bible says to stand for righteouness, not to cower in fear.

More catholic hypocrisy, but what else should we expect?

The Catholics did suffer. Saint Maximilian Kolbe, Edith Stein, thousands of priests and nuns were executed. many more, in fact when the Germans were finished executing the Jews they were going to go after the Catholics. READ HISTORY BOOKS.

Go ahead, form an opinion without ever examining the historical record.
An anti-Catholic bigot called Pius XII Hitler's Pope. That bigot didn't care about the historical record either.
The historical record shows Pope Pius XI was advised by Cardinal Pacelli (who became Pope Pius XII)to prohibit Catholics from being members of the Nazi party. It was Cardinal Pacelli who travelled to Germany to require the German Bishop's conference to publish and enforce the ban against Catholic membership in the Nazi party.
As a result, Hitler hated Cardinal Pacelli and repeatedly tried to assassinate him before Pius XI died so he wouldn't become Pope.
When Pius XI died and Cardinal Pacelli was elevated to the Papacy, Hitler continued to attempt to assassinate him in the Vatican. No one was more aware of the danger the nazis posed than Pius XII.

Pope Piux XI and Pope Pius XII were very vocal in condemning the anti-semitism and other false doctrines of the nazis.
The problem Pius XII faced was that some of the powerful Bishops in Germany were sympathetic to the nazis and undermined his efforts. Due to the slaughter of the most conservative members of the clergy by the nazis, those sympathetic Bishops dominated the early sessions of the the Second Vatican Council.

Accurate article but iut doesn't go back far enough.

Nazi party members and communist party members were murdering Catholic members and leaders of the labor unions in a bid to gain control of them. During the day they would murder Catholic labor union members; during the evening they were murdering each other.

When Hitler moved to seal his power, he murdered the members of Catholic Action and the members of the Catholic centre party.

There is no excuse for slandering the church nor Pope Pius XII; the information has been part of the public domain for more than 70 years.

68 percent of the United States Armed Forces during WWII were Catholic even though Catholics were only about 21 percent of the U.S. population. In 1932, U.S. and Australia Catholic radio talk-show hosts were being ridiculed by anti-Catholic protestant callers who claimed it was intollerant and anti-Democratic for the Catholic church to condemn the nazi party.

England, Canada, and the United States had brown shirts too. They were pro-nazi and pro-fascist, typically fundamentalist protestant, and very anti-Catholic.

Ironically, the people most likely to join the anti-Catholic rantings against Pope Pius XII are descended from pro-nazi nutcases.
