My name is Cheryl and my soninlaw has stage 4 non small cell adeno carcinoma...he was diagnosed 3 months ago and has now had his lifetime limit of radiation ..and still has 4 chemo sessions to go..his cancer had spread to his mediastinum and to 2 places in his neck..the outlook was VERY grim..the dr's told him to get his affairs in order..He went to see 2 different biochemists who both strongly suggested he try crushed apricot seeds as a treatment ..they assured him this could be taken along with the chemo and rdiation..so we did some research on the seeds and decided to try them..i read on a site that he should take 33 seeds per day...so for 2 weeks he consumed 33 of these seeds per day and got so sick he went back to the biochemist for some help..when he told the man he was taking 33 seeds per day..the man freaked out and told him he should never take more than 7-10 seeds per day...as they have cyanide in them that ideally trick the cancer into thinking its sugar...then as the cancer consumes the seeds..the seeds kill the cancer from the inside out..well..he began to take 10 seeds per day ...and last week he had another chest x-ray..and it said that the cancer is...GONE...yes..GONE!!!...now he still has 4 chemo's and on sept 1st they will repeat all the catscans and the petscan but we truly believe god has given us a miracle...heres some food for thought..i went back to the site wherre i read to take 33 seeds per day..and NOWHERE on that site does it say that...i truly believe god steered us there to help him give us this miracle...if anyone wants to discuss this in depth you may email me at cherylc42@hotmail.com there IS hope out there..we just have to find it..

wow ! i posted this same thing on another lung cancer forum and got banned..so i resigned up and asked what i did wrong and got banned AGAIN..so thank you whoever runs this site for letting me tell our own story..i thought thats what forums were for to share storys and feelings..im not saying the apricot seeds and b17 will work for everyone im just saying its one of the things we tried and now my soninlaws lung cancer appears to be gone..to me thats a miracle..and if the seeds had ANYTHING at all to do with that..then others have a right to know all of their options..thanks again ...cheryl..........

This is an update on my soninlaw..we just last week got the newest catscan reports. It seems now that the cancr is not gone from his lung...but the tumor that was 4cm is now less than 2cm,and the 2 place in his neck lymphnodes that were 2cm are now less than 1cm each and the Dr. predicts they will shrivel up and die.and even tho the dr's had said if it could be at least shrunk they would remove the rt lower lobe..now thay say due to the lymphnode involvement he will never be a surgical candidate..so he continues to take his apricot seeds and B17,see's his Dr.regularly, feels 100% better than 3 months ago..and we pray..we pray so hard ..and still..we long for a miracle...

Hi Ann...i'll give you an update on my soninlaw...he now has 2 herniated disks in his back that cant be operated on because his chemo dr wont release him to have the surgery..he's in misery..fo the past 3 weeks he has no quality of life...he's on so many pain meds he's in another world..the toll this is taking on my daughter and little grandson is astronomical...they dont smile anymore..they dont sleep..my soninlaw hasnt eaten in days..i think all the pain meds have put his bowels to sleep..we take him to the emergency room..they keep him a few hours then send him home..and we take him again the next day..our life now revolves around his pain..as his pain is our pain..i'd love to give you all some encouragement but right now i just aint feeling it..we are at a loss for what to do for him..he's wasting away before our eyes...i've begged him to stop the chemo to get the surgery on his back..he's so afraid..i dont know what else to say...maybe someday they will find a cure for this debilitating disease...until then..keep the faith and pray..that seems to be all we can do...

Saw your comments when I was searching for help for my BIL who has stage 4 adenocarcinoma. I suppose there are people who take advantage of cancer patients in that way, but I didn't detect that in your message. There are stage 4 survivors out there (Try Richard Bloch of HR Block who had Stage 4, was given 3 mos to live and lived 20 more years when he died of heart disease. His website is excellent. Look it up on Google) and some can't be explained.

My BIL didn't smoke, he is only 40.

I worked in a hospital with lung cancer patients in the late '70's and let me tell you not enough has changed in the way of treatment for them. Still no early warning scan like other cancers.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I wanted to let you know I appreciate your documenting it. So few take the time to do that because it is painful. I appreciate that you did.

My brother in law is StageIV nsclc. He is suffering daily with pain. Recently he was discovered with a tumor in his abdomen and will resume chemo treatments. He has just finished 38 radiation treatments. Please help me pray for him. He doesn't know the Lord and God is the only one who can help him

thank you all for your thoughts and prayers...its been almost 4 months and its very hard to go thru holidays and daily living knowing hes gone..his bd is march 4th...we still cry everyday..if i had one wish..it would be that NO ONE would ever have to go thru this again....i cant fathom that in the year 2007 we still have no cures for esp lung cancer but many others too...too bad the treatment is such a moneymaker..if it wasnt..i believe the cure would have been here ....just my thoughts...i pray for you all..and your families...cheryl..

I am truly sorry for those of you who have lost someone dear to cancer. My father is now living with me so that I may take care of him, since his Stage 4 nsclc diagnosis 2 months ago. I have read many web sites far too many hours, and can come to a few conclusions, one being “Don’t Smoke”.

The other conclusion revolves around faith. I only bring this up since it was mentioned in this thread. Sam Harris wrote a book (a small book) called “Letter to a Christian Nation”, where he so beautifully examines the usefulness of faith especially in the situation we are in. I personally bought the audio CD at the book store. I have a much better grip on my emotions, and am better focused on providing the most comfort for my father, after listening to this wisdom.

Perhaps it will help other’s in our situation.

stefan..my dad also died from lung cancer 3 yrs ago..he came to live with me the last year...you'll never be sorry for what you're doing taking care of him...i hold that year dear to my heart...one thing i will share with you...my dad didnt want me to know the pain he was in so for a long time he suffered in silence...my solution to that was to put the pain pills at his bedside with a glass of water...he felt much more comfortable taking them on his own rather than having to ask me for them or admit his pain...then when it was time he could have another ..i put it at his bedside..it worked for both of us..just a helpful tip...sincerely ..cheryl

Try asking the medical oncologist if there's any targetted drugs to try before its too late. I heard of Tarceva, Irressa, Avastin and a few more. I have ask my dad's doc about these too late, now my dad is having very bad pneumonia which laboured his breathing and the palliative docs have given him a few days life. Hopefully there's miracle so that we can try him on one of these targetted drugs.
