Well yea what's six months to a country who's sentences average 8 times longer then the rest of the world. But it has reversed course and states are having emergency meeting in order to release as many as they can. The drug war was always funded by federal money, that's why cops arrested so many because they received a bounty on each arrest no matter how silly it was. As soon as the federal money stopped so did silly arrests.

In Colorado, a drug bust was made where they were using comic book purchases to launder their money. Seems like the "War on Drugs" is still working. Comic books. Ouch. That's hitting close to home. LOL http://www.upi.com/Top_News/2009/08/25/Colo-d...

Yes I do read, you are way behind the times however. Let me catch you up. Meth labs are a thing of the past and have been replaced by the 2 liter soda pop shake and bake method. You can now make meth start to finish while driving a car, http://www.huliq.com/6168/85388/shake-and-bak... . The drug war is over it ended in May. White House Czar Calls for End to 'War on Drugs' http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1242258915276... actually? i am not behind at all. treatment and prevention has been the focus for no less than 3 years in organized local organizations. and, btw, treatment and prevention ARE a source in the war on drugs. if you're truly interested in fighting the war against drugs? i'd suggest contacting local agencies who are aligned with UNITE. all i know is what i see/ hear / read locally and what i see on the net, nationwide. there are MANY people STILL committed to fighting the war against drugs that ruin lives. incidentally i DO agree with posts on youtube and elsewhere from ppl IN the drug ring who state "you people in the US are pathetic and if you would just stop using, there would BE no market for it".'nuff said.... and? what does this tangent have to do with smoking in public anyway? i just got caught up in the debate. i love to debate, just in a civil way. which is VERY rare to be able to do, in the world of topix. lol

The Truth as I see it

I believe that people who dont want to smoke should not smoke, I also believe people that do want to smoke should be allowed!! I have alot to say on this matter so if you dont want to be here all day then go read something else!! I came from a family that does smoke and I hated it as well, but then I found as the years went on to either join them or shutup about it. I am not condoning smoking but I am also not condoning drinking either, but why should we be treated any differently because of the habit that we chose to take part in!! I am a smoker and I respect the fact that people dont want to bothered with it and I also have enough respect to know that when someone does not like I dont partake of it in front of them, but how does it seem fair to take smoking from someone when those of us who dont drink have to sit in a resturaunt or any other social place and watch people detroy their kidneys and self respect and act like morons make it any different? Also, I do personally see anything wrong with drinking either, I dont do it but if that is your choice of drug so be it, This will always be something that people will never ever agree on and so there is no point at pointing the finger at anyone. If you are going to start pointing the finger at people for the habits that they partake in then you will have a new world of things you could point out such as why is it fair for anyone to have to sit in any public place with a sex offender or a thief or so on!! I understand that people dont want to be exposed to second hand smoke for the fear of cancer and so forth but everytime you leave your house to drive to these smoker friendly places you put yourself at greater risk of being in a car accident within 1 mile of your home due to someone being ignorant or so fourth, so see people if you are going to target smokers than you need to target everything in which you dont approve of and we would all spend out whole day complaining and whining and you would never be able to leave your own home. I also think that everyone should reflect upon the fact that if not for tobaccao growers some families would not have had money to provide a deacent life for their children or family or so fourth, so before you start talking about smoker you better think of where you come and how you got there!! Also, if you dont like the smoke then by all means you sit outside on the porch in the cold, because from what children are being taught now the whole world is being polluted with car exhaust, factories and so fourth!! Why should we have to sit outside alone and breath in toxic fumes either!!!!!

My mom still has to breath it. If he lights up now, I leave. It's main job is to kill us, so why not get rid of it? There's nothing good about it at all. The farmers just want to keep it legal to keep making money. That's so wrong when $$ is more important than lives. You know what? Alcohol really isn't good for you, let's make it illegal. Driving a car releases toxic fumes, let's make driving illegal. Being obese is unhealthy, let's put fat people in jail. Candy and other sugary treats are not healthy, let's make them illegal. Soda has no real nutritional benefit, let's ban it. A sedentary lifestyle is bad for your health, let's fine people who sit around the house and watch TV. There's a correlation between video games and seizures, let's make video games illegal. Some people find swearing offensive, let's fine people for cussing. In case you missed the sarcasm, I find your idea to be both self-centered and over-reacting hysteria.

Your clothes stink, your breath is horrible, and your teeth are yellowed with nicotine. Then why don't you keep your stupid ass at home? You are risking your health every time you walk out your door! There are smoke free places that you can go to dine that would better suit your needs. Why take the limited places a smoker can go to dine, and enjoy a smoke? People like you are self centered ASSHOLES!!!!!

They ban smoking and I will start burning tires in all my free time out of spite. See how that offsets your carbon for ya. May be childish but I sure would feel better.
