It's ironic the post office NOW wants kudos for it's employees marrow donations. They've been fighting the small amount of work loss, this life saving effort costs the donor employees. I was a reliable blood donor, UNTIL I became a postal worker and figured out that management has time allowances in the contract, but not the budget. When the marrow registry asked for me to donate marrow, I declined. My manager wouldn't let me schedule the sick leave.
