IT IS NOW FOUR YEARS SINCE BOTH OF MY KNEES WERE REPLACED (RIGHT ONE JULY 2007 - LEFT ONE OCTOBER 2007). I NOW HAVE SOME DIFFICULTY IN WALKING, IN THAT I APPEAR TO BE FLOPPY FOOTED AND OVERBALANCE FAIRLY EASILY. I AM WORKING OUT AT THE GYM SOME 2-3 TIMES EVERY WEEK TO TRY AND STRENGTHEN UP MY KNEE MUSCLES, BUT IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE DOING ME A LOT OF GOOD AS FAR AS WALKING IS CONCERNED. MY LEFT PATELLA IS ALSO NOT TRACKING DEAD CENTRE AND THERE IS SOME WEAKNESS THERE, AND JUST A LITTLE PAIN WHEN I EXERT THE KNEE. HAS ANYONE HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE?

Has anyone experienced a fall from not being able to stop on a very slight incline? I did this and went down on my new knee. Let me tell you it's not a pleasant experience.

I had a knee replacment last nov, my balance is ttrouble, I have trouble with stairs and I can't sleep at night, I have caugjht myself falling many of times, now my hip is starting to bother me and my back, iht have to take vicodins every day, no feeling around my knee but it sure akes a lot more at night when it'bed time, I can't bend it very much so I havtrouble stepping over things, and I stumble a lot. I keep having to get up and sit down. It seems I can never get comfortable. It's no fun, if I take 3 vicodin I do pretty good, that's the only thing that gives me something normal. But I still only have so much mobility. I hate it.

How are you now, Gary?
Yes, the vicodins sure help. Just better go easy on them VICO's. I just ask for 4-5 at a time. So about a day and a half at most. That's the worst kind of addiction. Oxy's oxocodeine perc's . Don't even talk to me on any of those.

When I need them I ask for just a few-5-6.

You can then try them again, using the same amounts
(5-6)a couple of weeks later.

I am 12 months after left knee replacement and 9 months after 2nd one. I am still using a walker to go out and a walking stick at home. They are both so tight. I can sit and I can bend them, but my problem is walking. They are both so stiff. Dies anyone have any ideas in how I can walk again....

in pain and no sleep or comfort
TKS here, after 8 weeks, my ankle hurts, too.
I just discovered that laying a bed of ice packs for my entire leg, and covering them with a towel has me off to sleep in a few minutes.
