I was denied insurance for 11 yrs in Florida due to my pre-existing of bad knee, bad hip and bad back. I kept working my 50 hrs a week, but now am only part time. Just FINALLY got Medicare at age 65 & FINALLY getting care, but find out I need a left hip replacement, a right knee replacement & then laminectomy fusion for my back. Have degen.disc disease in back & osteoarthritis. I already have to pay $295 month for Medicare & Supplement Plan F so when I heard Medical Device manufacturers now have to pay a 2.3% tax, that could altoghter stop me from getting care if they pass that on to me & I think they will just pass it to the patients. Anyone know what a knee or hip replacement device costs so I can figure out the tax. I am just so upset over this. It was so darn hard to not be able to have any care for 11 yrs., I turned 65 in October and was hoping I could start getting this behind me. Now I am so worried about these Medical Device taxes. They will just make patients pay it and it they do, I am not going to be able to get the surgeries done. Does anyone know what the taxes would be. I could multiply it myself but don't know what the devices cost.
