I had to have a revision of a Zimmer knee replacement and they are going to offer some sort of monetary settlement. I am waiting very impatiently to hear what type of figure this may be. Has anyone gotten a voluntary settlement offer from them or know anyone who has? I have no clue what a fair figure might be.

I had a zimmer knee implant in sept,09, the knee lasted about 9 months before in startaed to fall apart, had to have revision surgery, in 2011, while in surgery the doctor screwed up my main artery behind the knee, that stoped blood flow to my leg the dr and the hopital both let it go for nine days, by then it was to late to save, had to have leg amputated above the knee,no they claim no responceablity for the scre up, but here I sit with one leg, yes it has changed my life completly, now waiting for court date, by the qay, the Doctor and the Hospital are still in bussiness, continuing to damage more people, whats wrong with this picture

I had my tkr on October 12th,2012..initially everything was good, even went home the day after surgery. First week after lots of pain and swelling then i started havin a loose feeling when i walked. Took the doctor a week to believe me,went in and i think HE freaked out...he tells me i need a revision surgery as he thinks the plastic is not thick enough. I admit i was scared and a bit angry. Revision surgery was done November 9th.i went from 14mm thickness to 20mm. It feels less loose, but it's very tight..i just hope not too tight...honestly right now i wish i would have kept my knee...mine is a zimmer for women replacement .....

Granny Gator, from a fellow "Gator". I had Zimmer dual replacements on 2004, have been in 24/7 pain ever since. Original surgeon will not see me again, I've seen countless specialists in three state, none can find the problem. The "hardware" IS secure, does not move, and I have virtually full strength in my knee muscles, BUT the pain is constant, can't walk or stand for more than a few minutes. I've tried evey drug in the book, acupuncture, nerve stimulator implants, neurotherapy treatments, EVERYTHING, but nothing helps. In addition to the knee pain, my feet are both numb and "tingly". Good luck with your dealings with Zimmer.

I joined a class action lawsuit against Zimmer's "Nex Gen" version (which is what I had, and was advised by the attorney's pitch on the Internet, only after three months of dinking with the attorneys, they said MY version of the "Nex Gen" was not exactly the same one named in the lawsuit!

Total prosthetic Zimmer knee surgery on 8-29-12. One month later in ER with staph infection....In 1-15-13, a top reconstructive surgeon at OHSU removed the Zimmer knee and all hardware...Packed my leg with antibiotics, putty, spacer, etc so I lived without a right knee for about 3 months or so. Was being treated with antibiotics on pick line from 9-12 to mid-April of 2013. On April 23rd., my surgeon, a good one, placed a Legion Knee in my rt. leg...A product of Smith Nephew Comp. Hoping this knee works out for me....A great staph at OHSU in Portland, ORE...Great surgeon and a great infectious disease specialist working as a team on my behalf. Sincerely, Roy Miller

In Sept 2012 i had a zimmer nexgen hiflex implant. it has never been functional. Loose, extreme burning pain and now my hip aches from being offbalance limping along with a cane. i have not returned to work and after awhile they eliminated my job. i have now gotten an attorney to fight with Zimmer but dont know what to expect for a settlement. i have lost a great job and cant sit or stand for more than a few minutes without intense pain.
i am hoping someone in this forum has had success with suing Zimmer. i will update if i have info I can share that may be helpful to others.
i would think that the loss of my job and intense pain as well as the fact I may never work again should merit a decent settlement.
i am fearful of having a revision as two surgeons have said they dont know if i will be any better off afterwards.

Hi all back again TKR done oct 07 now that loose the rattle is so loud it is past a joke and no surgeon will touch it .
I have been told by Johnson & Johnson i need a review done Depuy the makers of my TKR bits have told me i need a review done ASAP as it should not be doing what it is,that was August 2012 I am at a loss of what to do my hip is bad now because my foot turns out to the left, when i lift my leg i can feel it come apart then close when i put it back down .
I am now getting sharp pains down my leg to the middle of my foot.
Plus on the inside and outside of my knee.
No one has herd a knee sound like mine but what can i do if no one cares what its doing.
As stated in my earlier posts my surgeon retired 3 weeks after he did mine.and left me with this mess i feel Depuy should pay for me to see another surgeon they made the parts that has failed in my Knee.

Hi I had my Zimmer Right Total Knee replacement put in on 6-9-08 They used the Zimmer Nex-Gen System. After the first year I had to have a revision done because I had server pain and looseing in the knee. I had a new Dr do that because My first Dr would not do it because I would not go back into his Hosp because I was gave the wrong meds. My new Dr. said things like ok but had to put a bigger spacer in. He when from a 10 to a 14. Now after 5 years I have more play then ever. The pain is so bad I can move. I can not walk up or down stairs or set or stand. I can't sleep at night. It is always giveing out on me. I have been going to hell for the last 6 years. I go back to see the same Dr that did the Revision before. It is something that is not like the last time. Something has came loose in the knee. It pops and bangs all the time. My lower part of the leg turns as I try to walk. I email Zimmer and they are trying to get me to send them some info. But I told them I will hold of till I see the Dr, and get the lot numbers from the Hosp to see if it was one that was recalled. Then I will talk to a someone or Lawyer before sending Zimmer any info.

I have had two zimmer knees, and love both. I heard that these or any of the knee joints can fail, if they were not cemented. Mine were cemented to fuse to the bone. My last one makes a little noise, whe nI get up from a sitting position, but no pain. I am very happy with both of mine. Mine were done in 2009 (right) and 2013 (left). I have my life back!!! I was lucky I have a wonderful surgeon, who apparently knows what he is doing. I am truly blessed! I wish you all luck.

Mary did you check with you Dr. to see if your first one was one that where recalled. If you had your first one put in 2009 that was before the recall in 2010. Your last one should be OK. My zimmer is so loose I can not walk on it with out very pain and giving out on me. If I do need it changed I hope we do not use a other zimmer.

No. From what I read and seen on TV ads, it is only a zimmer knee that wasn't cemented. Both of mine are, and I am not having any pain or discomfort. My last xray showed everything is fine.

Good luck to anyone who thinks that they can collect any money from Zimmer Nex Gen. I've been with a lawyer since 2012 and was told last year that they were dropping my case, because they needed people that they thought would win money for them. I fit all the criteria and had a revision 11 months after the failed surgery, also had all the recalled parts. It's a joke, don't waste your time.
