I would like to receive the help of this forum.
Looking for a medication called afinitor (everolimus) which was found to have very good effect on patients with metastatic renal cancer.
It is available for sale anywhere in the world?
What is it's price? etc...
Thank you.

Afinitor, the name under which everolimus will be marketed for kidney cancer, is also known as RAD001.It is made by Novartis and marketed under another name to reduce organ rejection in kidney and heart transplants. It is not approved yet for kidney cancer as far as I know, but Novartis is running another study right now to expand access to this drug forpatients with advanced kidney cancer who have failed with other approved treatments. My husband is on this trial and has had extremely good results -- he is now in partial remission. I suggest you get in contact with Novartis to find a trial.

My father was recently prescribed Afinitor. Thirty pills cost $7,000.00. After insurance co-pay $4,000.00.

Norvatis has a patient assistance program. They will fax you a form. My father was denied because his diagnosis code did not match.

I now need help trying to find another alternative.

PATIENT ACCESS NETWORK FOUNDATION
PATIENT ADVOCATE FOUNDATION

Both of these provide insurance copay help. They both have income limits. The top one denied our application. Received help for two months from second.

I have 2 new boxes unopened of Afinitor,(everolimus) 10 mg.
Each box has 28 tablets, I paid $6,500.00 dlls (about) for each box.
If you have a need for it, I can give you a great discount, I have no need for it anymore.

Hello, I was informed that Afinitor 10mg contains 30 tablets in box. Why in yours only 28 tablets?

HI, I did not take it, but my friend did. He had no side effects like nausea, nor malaise, only his blood sugar had to be monitored because it raised it, after taking it for 4 months. He now takes another one.

How many pills (10 mg) do you take for TSC or cancer treatment daily? Thanks! I have a few TSC patients (children) in UK who have a tumor in brain. Since Afinitor causes the side effect, suppressing immune system, it might work on TSC with propolis which boosts immune system, complementarily.
Please e-mail: julie8860@gmail.com
There are trails being conducted in US for use of Afinitor for brain tumors

My husband has stage 4 renal cancer which has spread to the lungs and lymph nodes. Comparing him to your husband do you think we should apply for Everolimus? Were the side effects very bad?

There were no side effects, but after about 3-4 months, his sugar had to be monitored, it raises the level.

Hey Penny,
Do you still have the afinitor? I took it on a clinical trial for breast cancer and had amazing results. However, my insurance won't cover this medicine for breast cancer.
