That's a lot of people! It predominantly affects women who experience their first signs of the syndrome in their early 20s. via Fitsugar

I hsve absolutely horrible IBS. It's so bad that when on business meetings, when I travel or even sometimes when I eat a meal at home, I get intestinal cramps and immediately need to find a restroom. My symptoms typically start about 15-20 minutes after eating a meal. What's really odd is that I don't lose weight with it! In addition to the cramping and frequent restroom visits, I begin to feel like my stomach is overly full after two or three bites of food! So, it can take me an hour or longer to eat a meal. I've taken Levsin, Bentyl, and other types of meds. Before going out to a business lunch or dinner, I have to take two or three immodium tablets in order to sit through the meal. If anyone has suggestions about new treatments, PLEASE post them on here!

One other thing, I've found that Levsin and Bentyl make my vision blurred and give me a dry mouth.

I'm thirteen years old. And I've had IBS for nearly 2 years now. But I didn't know just until now. Not even sure if it is that. I have been through so much...It's horrible. I've had every test done you can get, I'm serious.Last year when we were trying to figure out what was wrong with me, i stunk,lol...My IBS is survere and i'm afraid to be socail, leave the house, or just anything. I've also tried immodium, it doesn't work for me as my stress levels are so bad.For 2 years, and still i've been obsessed with smell.I spray my self with so many perfumes and deoderants it's really horrible than people say you stink like perfume or something. Not one time since i've had ibs have i not needed to use the restroom...the worst is going to school, I stress so badly I cry in the morning or the night before, thinking i don't want to go to school. I'm worried what other kids would say if i smelled. Eventhough everyone says i don't. It's really getting worse. Now there gonna put me in homeschool as i'm pertrified of school. 'Scared of going anywhere with my friends and family.

I have an IBS and it condition is absolutely horrible.
What I can do? |
Ask your doctor about H. pylori bacteria. It usually takes a week of antibiotics to kill the bacteria to an acceptable level. H. pylori bacteria is natural occurring and will over power good digestive bacteria which needs to be replaced after the use of antibiotics. Note: Nexium and Prilosec can aggravate the condition. |

I was diagnosed with that about 15 years ago. they did two courses of antibiotics and nothing changed. I just lived with the fact when i ate I would be taking a dump within 10-20 minutes. Before flights or long car rides I would about OD on imodum to help it out. 3 years ago I was in a really bad motorcycle wreck, On my 5th surgery I got a MRSA infection that they fought with 5 courses of 6 weeks each treatments of IV antibiotics and on top of all that all types of oral antibiotics. The side effect of all these antibiotics is that my IBS went away after the first 6 week course of IV antibiotics. I've been off all antibiotics for about 18 months now after taking them for about 2 years and the IBS is just recently started to return. Thats my story, don;t know if will help anyone but there it is. Mike |

Simply put, your digestion system is broken and it needs to be healed. No drugs or medication will do this. Your stomach and digestion are the same as your skin or bones in that they can heal themselves. However, you need to follow a proper system to allow them to do this. This is what all "holistic cures" do: you allow your body to regenerate themselves.Think about it, a doctor does not fix your skin if it gets cut. Your doctor does not regenerate your bone...you do! I learned this through a free e-book at http://stomachsolution.com/ibs where she outlines what you need to do.
