Good article above and stupid comment. For some of us this is a life changing situation and when someone makes a joke that is for one not funny and two taking away from how important this particular subject is to a lot of us just really pisses me off. That little rant said I would like to address the topic and hopefully others will add their ideas.
For me I switched from a low residue diet to the gaps diet and so far it seems to be helping with the pain episodes. Not as common as they were. Still get the discomfort all day and the only thing that helps somewhat with that is a heating pad or a hot bath. There are times where I do not hardly notice the symptoms but they only last a hour or so after a hot pad or bath then right back into hell again but those few moments of peace are what I live for
Doc gave me bentyl but I really wanted to try and find a way of living with this without drugs all the time. I think I will breakdown and try it to see what happens maybe if they work I could use them for the pain episodes.
Would love to hear what works for you but please no adds just what has worked for fellow ibsers
Thanks

I suffered chronic diarrhea for 30+ years. About two years ago I began to take a diarrhea capsule everyday and my problem ended. I just buy the supermarket own brands so it is cheap and what a difference it makes to my life. I am in control of my life after all these years!

You should consider trying a digestive enzyme supplement. Enzymes fall into a few categories, including food enzymes (found in raw food), metabolic enzymes (mostly found in the pancreas) and digestive enzymes (mostly found in the gut). Enzymes are technically proteins, and they help the body carry out the chemical reactions necessary to break down and ultimately digest food.

You can find a digestive enzyme specially formulated to help with IBS here: www.getsorbeo.com

It starts with vaccines like many of today's "mysterious" health conditions.

Naturally, I am skeptical of everything online. http://inhousegeneric.com is legitimate. I placed my first order for the smallest amount possible. It arrived sooner than expected. I didn't pay the extra money for speedy air mail. I placed another order that was much larger and it came right on time. I will definitely use this company again for even larger orders now that I trust them. They also give you discounts every time you place an order which is cool. One thing to keep in mind is if you place a larger order, they will send half in one shipment, and then the other half after that to avoid customs scrutinizing your package. I am very happy, I no longer need to pay tons of money to see a doctor and therapist (and have them tell me a bunch of stuff I already know) in order to get my medication.

have been researching for months and reading reviews for each pharmacy and finally decided to take the plunge and order from one. After coming to the conclusion http://goo.gl/bLFWQG seemed the most safest and had the best feedback I ordered my pills. Was very apprehensive at first due to cc fraud, ell and they are good i would definetely recommend and purchase againspam and being generally ripped off (have not received one spam email and no cc fraud) order process and checkout was simple.
placed my order on my debit card and was charged straight away and received confirmation email immediately. choose the speedy del trackable and was advised del would be 7-9 days and order was placed on the 08/01. was just about to email them today to chase up as now 15 days but behold package had been posted through my door. packaging seems as shown on webiste. apart from small delay on advertised shipping time i have been generally please with the pharmacy.
wont be taking the pills for another few weeks yet but all going well and they are good i would definetely recommend and purchase again from them.

When I went gluten-free, virtually ALL my symptoms disappeared: bloating, gastrointestinal distress, stomach cramps... I do find I feel better when I eat whole foods vs processed foods, but the gluten thing was huge.

I want to find a real MD board certified doctor who deals in all natural healing rather then relaying on drugs for medical answers. I'd prefer a GI doctor. What key words or phrases should I use to google search for one in my area? I'm only getting started and haven't any clues on how to find this! Medical anything is like a foreign language to me any help would be appreciated. Thanks

So are many other victims of vaccine induced illness. But that help hasn't been discovered yet.

Fighting over the problem isn't going to find the answer. Pharma wants people to think they need them for an answer. We don't!

Don't forget they called Jesus {God} crazy and hung him on the cross. The man of truth no matter how much he proved to them, they still hung him on the cross.

Read my posts all ibs comes from yeast . It's not 50 million it's 500 million and what do they all have in common they all eat yeast bread every day. Don't put yeast in your stomach and I guarantee it will stop. The other best thing I do for my health I drink at least 1 litre of milk a day. Also V-8 juice has all the vegetables you need every day. Its a great blessing don't pass it up either. A quote from one on the internet - I started drinking milk while I was 4 -I am now 84 and never been sick a day in my life.

As an IBS sufferer nothing helped me as much as the recent founding in "Low FODMAP diet". It has been life changing for me.

This diet has been scientifically proven, but yet not many specialist are aware of it. Check this link from Monash University and watch this short video: http://www.med.monash.edu/cecs/gastro/fodmap/

Also you can watch this long public lecture by Professor Gibson, the head of Gastroentrology department of Monash University, I am sure it will clear out most of your doubt.
http://www.med.monash.edu/cecs/gastro/educati...

I am using their FODMAP mobile application everyday, so I highly recommend that.

As with the natural remedies, use of mint leaf (as a tea or other forms) has helped me too.
