My PAD continues, after stents in both legs. I can walk on the treadmill about 5 minutes before it starts hurting. My physical therapist (for my shoulder, a former sports trainer) suggested a compression stocking might help. Obviously it's being used by others. What are your experiences?

Compression stockings can help but you need to wear the proper level of compression and the right style of stocking. Do some research, talk to your doctor, and examine online stores that sell the items (AKA support stockings) before you try them. The higher the level of compression, the harder they are to put-on and the more serious is the medical effficacy.

I JUST UNDERWENT COMPRESSION THERAPY FOR VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY(EDEMA). I PURCHASED THE COMPRESSION STOCKINGS AND THE BOX SAYS DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE INTERMITTENT CLAUDICATION. I HAVE PVD WHICH CAUSES ME TO HAVE INTERMITTENT CLAUDICATION. WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF WEARING THE COMPRESSION STOCKING AND WHY ARE THEY NOT ADVISABLE?

When you say you underwent "compression therapy" do you mean you used a lymphedema pump similar to the one shown here? http://www.compressionstockings.com/biocompre... . How bad was your edema?

Compression therapy is mainly confined to the stockings. Iíve had one when Iíd met with a bad accident where I landed on my back creating havoc for my spine! I must say this is an effective treatment. I had taken assistance from the therapists at http://www.physiomed.ca/
