Just had my 2nd night of SLEEP!!! b/c of Rozerem. Fell asleep in less than 20 min. after taking it. It seems to be the answer to my prayers. The only down side is I have went so long without sleeping well that Rozerem is working almost too well. I believe I could sleep for days! Anyone else feel like you could sleep & sleep??

Hey everyone! I am on vacation in Ca from the midwest and the time change screwed up a goodnight sleep for me. I called a 1-800 pharmacy and got 10 Rozerum next day via FedX.
I took 1 tablet last night and can say this morning I have the worst sleeping pill hangover ever. Worse than OTC sleeping medication. I usually take Ambien and for occasional use I believe it is good value--No Hangover! It has been 15 hour since I took one doese and still feel groggy...ruining my day. I plan to let Rozerem know I had a bad experience with their product.$80 down the toilet..take care everyone

I had been taking Ambien CR for about 2 yrs now. I recently asked my doctor to perscribe another sleep aid. With the Ambienk, I would sleep hard and still be drugged the next day.

With the Rozerm I seem to have a more natural sleep. But yes, you have to give it a chance...at least 2 weeks.

Just started taking Rozerem (3 days)and feel so lousy in the am, dizzy until the afternoon, and light headed. I haven't tried any other drug, but am considering discontinuing this one. Not that thrilled with the help it is giving me falling to sleep or staying asleep, not that different from before taking the drug.

I took Rozerem for a week or so a while back. I have always had very vivid, wonderful dreams, but during that time the dreams where huge and exteremely active (like I tried to fly to the moon and felt it phsically (night winds, acceleration, gravity...)). If that is a side-effect, I am fine with it. I am about to give the medicine a try again. I stopped initially because I was experiencing other medical issues.

I have been trying a trial version of Rozerem and it really helps me to sleep and basically started right away with the first dose. At first, I did have some drowsiness the next day but this gradually got better. But I have been having really weird dreams. Not nightmares actually but very vivid and very active dreams. They are so weird that I frequently wake up from them. However I can go back to sleep again and usually do not have a repeat. Has anyone else experienced this? Just thought I would ask.

<quoted text>I tried ambien and it works great. I have not tried the rozeram, but I did try lunesta and that was a joke. Plus it leaves a terrible taste in your mouth. Im trying to find something a little cheaper than ambien, if any one knows of anything.
Ambien now comes in a generic and is much cheaper

I have taken abien for a couple of years now. It always worked great, putting me to sleep within about 20 minutes and I would sleep soundly- sometimes too soundly. i would not always hear things around the house at night. Then because of insurance I switched to ambien cr about 9 months ago. Again, worked great!! But the last two months it has become harder and harder to fall asleep (about 3 hrs avg.) So my dr. switched me to trazadone and rozerem. After 2 weeks I was to stop the trazadone and the rozerem would have built up in my system. It's only been 1 week but the first night I took the trazadone, I woke up with a horrible hangover and felt dizzy. The 2nd night I didnt sleep but 3 hours and the next morning I was sooo dizzy I fell in the shower. It was awful!! So I am waiting out the rozerm and I miss my GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP! I found some hope here that I just need to keep waiting. I would warn with Ambien and Trazadone-- never drive after you have taken and be careful in the morning too until you have adjusted to it.

I tried Rozerem for two months and never saw any difference in my sleeping habits. Sometimes I'll be awake for hours after taking Rozerem. I think it pretty much fails as a sleep remedy. I've tried Ambien CR and it works 100% better.

I participated in a sleep disorder presentation by a Rozerem rep. The rep suggests not suddenly ceasing the current sleep aid you take, yet slowly replace Rozerem over a period of time. And yes it takes 3-4 weeks. Luckily, over time you apparently will see the difference and will not be effected like others which can cause lethagy, grogginess, balance issues, etc. Just FYI

It's kind of off the radar for more insomniacs but Seroquel worked really well for me. It was originally intended for bipolar and schizophrenia related disorders because it calms the brain, but now its also being prescribed for other things like insomnia. Anyway for me it worked in about 20 minutes and knocked me out. When I woke up I felt more completely rested than I have since I can remember. The kind of feeling like waking up on a Sunday morning and knowing that you can sleep in as long as you like and the bed is sooooooooooo comfortable. There is a major drawback though and that was that I was very sleepy in the morning for a couple hours after I woke up. So it would work on me for like 10 hours not 8. So I'm going to try Rozerem for a couple weeks to test it out. But if that didnt work for you I'd suggest giving Seroquel a try, it's very strong and won't wake you up in the middle of the night, and it's very restful sleep.

I've been taking Rx meds for insomnia occassionally for years. THE BEST was Tuinal(secobarbital and amobarbital)albeit not now available in the US. Sadly it had a considerable potential for abuse. I had complete sleep cycles and was amazingly refreshed and alert the next AM. There is Seconal (50% of Tuinal) but it's short acting(too short)and available in 100/200 mgs.

Lunesta is the best for a full nights sleep. However, I have built a tolerance to it. Time to suck it up and go without a good nights sleep for a while until I can get back on Lunesta or I might try rozerem and see what happens.

Ambien really messed with my mind!!

I am on my second week of rozerem. When I began it, I had also been taking two tablets if Benedryl a night to get sleepy. My brother is a doctor who said that doing so is perfectly safe, non-habit forming, and should not become tolerant. At first the Rozerem seemed to help me get throuh the night, but maybe it was the combination that did it. I have been weaning myself off the Benedryl, and for the last two nights used only the Rozerem. I am not sleeping well. Maybe it takes longer to work. Other people's experiences seem to vary greatly. I have used Ambien a couple of times. Very powerful, but I did have a little of the amnesia they warn about. I carried on a phone conversation that I hardly remembered afterwards. Lunesta - the taste was SO BAD, it was not worth the good sleep!

Research Amitriptylin (also known as Elavil). It is $4 for 30 days. I believe it is actually an antidepressent. But will help sleep. 50mg works great to help me sleep, but try lower dosage. Can take long-term. Side affects they say can increase appetite, slow metablism which is why I am looking for something to replace it.

Like most of the other people here, I've tried everything when it comes to sleep aides. Ambien, Lunesta, Rozerem, and even the benzos. Out of all of it Lunesta worked best for me. The only side effect I had was the horrible taste in my mouth. Drinking anything cold made this terribly worse. I finally couldn't take it anymore. Ambien leaves me with a hangover and the benzos make me hyper(I was told this was because of my ADD.) So I tried Rozerem and it helps me fall asleep but everytime I take it I have strange dreams about food and wake up hungry.

Same here... I take it around 9pm, asleep by 10pm, then wake up around 1:45am, 3:30am, 4:45am, and 5:30am. Yet with all the wake ups, I seem awake during the day until about 4pm.

I was just given samples of Rozerem. My initial difficulty was falling asleep. The doctor told me to give it 3 days to work effectively. So far, it has helped me fall asleep but now seems to wake me up periodically during the night - wide awake! Has anyone else noticed this effect or do I just need to give it more time?

watch out for ambien, i got addicted because i liked the "buzz" it gave me and i started taking more pills when i was in a hypnotic state without knowing it...im lucky to be alive, i had a full bottle on nite and when i woke up in the morning it was gone, you sleep walk and trip on it and your memory goes to hell, i only recomend taking ambien (cos it does work) for like a week but after that you will get hooked...

Daily Horoscope for November 8

Cancer

Try to find a balance while the Moon passes through your second house of personal finances, challenging deceptive Neptune in your house of other people's money. You may be giving away too much, whether it's tangible or intangible things. Then again, this is a potentially spiritual time for you. Just remember, you don't have to give away everything and join a convent to be cleansed.
