Greetings all. My name is Sam and I am new to this sort of group. I have already been checked from stem to stern medically. I have tried various medications, supplements, hormones, foods and physical changes to my bedroom.
I have what the doctor called “situational insomnia”. When things are on my mind, when I have an important day ahead of me, when life is generally not going my way I can’t sleep. I am tired of being tired. I am tired of being told that there is nothing wrong with me. I am tired of not being able to solve my insomnia.
I came to this forum in the hope of finding kindred spirits who would at the very least share something that I do not already know and for some support and company.
Nice to meet you all. I am looking forward to what I hope will be a positive, interesting and helpful experience.

Hi samjs. Welcome to the group. It looks like you need some help with anxiety rather than insomnia lol. Well that's all part of the insomnia game, breaking it down into its side-effects and treating each symptom. That's why often the sleeps meds don't work. I can think in bed for hours after I take sleep meds. The mind is strong so use it to get to sleep. Find things that distract you from thought, such as music or other noise. Meditation or other things to wear your mind out. I'm not saying these are the answers to your specific needs but treating each symptom and finding more is going to help you overcome insomnia.
