try 1,000 mg of Taurine at night and avoid Caffeine and Sugar either completely or avoid it any time after 2pm. Read a book in bed until you are drowsy. Avoid watching t.v. after 7pm. Get up each day at the same time. force yourself to go for a 30 minute walk sometime during the day but not later that 5pm.

There are a number of natural approaches that can help achieve better and longer-lasting sleep. I'd certainly try these before over-the-counter meds or prescriptions. I agree with the article. It shows what we can do to improve our chances of getting to sleep. Warm bath, relaxing a couple of hours before bed and having a dark, quiet room to sleep in are all things I try to do.

I have been taking magnesium supplements for two weeks now.
Still not sleeping.
Anyone know long does it take before I notice the effect?
Am getting plenty of calcium btw.

Great article, I agree there are many things you can do to try to get a better night's sleep. Watching what you eat and drink right before bed can also help. I have been taking some natural sleep aids, and have also been helping me. I haven't noticed any side effects.

Regarding the magnesium supplements, they are only going to help you if you get a form that is highly absorbed. I would recommend looking for magnesium glycinate. Whatever you do, make sure you don't buy a supplement with magnesium oxide, it simply won't work. I would also suggest looking into using magnesium oil as a topical since it is absorbed easily. Another great suggestion, is to take an epsom salt bath before bed to help relax you. Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate so it will also help you absorb a lot of magnesium.
