Hi. A little less than a month ago, I got sick and was throwing up for five hours. I get sick like this a lot. However, the next morning (about 8 hours later), my husband woke up and realized I was having seizures. He could not wake me. He rushed me to the ER. They told him my blood sugar was at a 5, and that I was in a hypoglycemic coma. After five hours, I awoke. A nurse just said I was a "little hypoglycemic". I was sent home, but was still extremely tired and weak feeling. I crashed for three hours, but when I awoke I started throwing up again. My husband went and bought a meter, and it read 207. So we went back to the ER to make sure, because they didn't really give us much information the first visit, and we weren't sure what to do. We knew that if I kept throwing up, I would eventually be back to having seizures again.

For years I have had trouble with low energy, depression, headaches and severe migraines, body pains, coordination problems, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, concentration problems, mood swings, etc. Once when I had a very stressful job (I was 19 and was hired as a receptionist, but after 3 months, I also did the job of Accounts Receivable and also had to do commercial collection calling as the AP was Chinese and hard to understand, with many other duties piled on me), I had to go home because I could not see. I was light headed and weak feeling for more than a week. I have passed out a few times.

On the second visit to the ER, they did a blood test and ruled out diabetes (my grandpa has diabetes, but only has to control it with a diet, no pills). They were concerned however, because my white blood cell count was really high. They wanted me to stay overnight for observation. I guess that's when they started the 72 hour fasting test. The doctors wanted to do tests to find out why my white blood cell count was up. They had to find an infection. They did do a cat scan that they thought showed that my small intestines might have a tumor. But they did a x-ray and said there was nothing. The doctors seemed to be dumbfounded. They called it a rare case of hypoglycemia.

I realize that the hypoglycemia is mostly because of my diet. I mean I'm 22 now, and have mostly lived off of drinking sodas and eating junk food most of my life. I just wonder with all the pains, nausea, and the daily migraines, if a tumor is possible. I do not have insurance, and am now unemployed (I was a drive tester, but can not drive now for six months). I am wondering if I should try and pursue the idea of a tumor or hormone cause. Or, since I don't have the money for doctors, should I just concentrate on fixing my diet. It just seems like a lot of you guys on here seem frustrated with the doctors not knowing much. But I am worried about a tumor. It seems to make sense.

Thank you very much.
