I cured my hyperthyroidism by eliminating wheat and dairy from my diet and including alot of broccoli. I eat broccoli everyday, and I believe that is what cured it. Broccoli suppresses the thyroid hormone that is being made. NO TOXIC MEDICINE!! simply change your diet. It takes about six months to see result. GOOD LUCK

I fully agree. I too started eating Collard greens or broccoli or cabbage on a daily basis.
I eliminated all dairy products, shelf bread, sea and fresh water fish completely for several months.
I did some research and made a list of foods that can substitute all what I would be missing from all those eliminated food items and included them in my diet.
I do eat dairy and dairy contained foods and sea food once in couple of days but in moderation just to enjoy food.
My method works great for me.Good Luck!

I agree about the diet. I have no dairy and not wheat products. 2 high protein smoothies with a bit of fruit in the morning along with almond butter and eat frequently. Stay away from dairy and wheat especially during the day. Some people can handle it past 5 pm once every few days. Diet is key along with daily yoga sessions to get rid of all the tension.

I am looking for the girl who started this diet idea.
My doctor overmedicated me and I wound up hyper.
As you all know it is awful, but I read about this type of eating and within one week I am feeling amazing. I also include soy milk and tofu.
Every morning I make a green smoothie including soy milk (not necessary) with some fruit (a Little) and some green veggies which I try t include cabbage family like Chineese cabbage which is on the sweet side.
I hope you all feel like I do and try to spread the word so those who are suffering like us feel better without medications.

Wheat grass juice is wonderful. I grow my own and juice it. You have to drink that seperate from anything else. You need a wheat gras extractor to get to the juice. I am not fond of it and it is time consuming and labor intensive. It takes a awful lot of wheat grass to make the amount you should drink in a day. Go on You Tube and print wheat grass juicing and they will show you. Then you can decide if it is for you.
I have not done it in awhle but I hope to start up again in summer.

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and asked my doctor to give me a month before puttin gme on the medication. I eliminated all sugar incluidng most fruits, caffeine, iodine, white foods (bread, pasta, potato) and dairy. after the month I had a blood test and I was almost back to normal. After months of suffering I felt like a new person and couldn't believe how dramatically my diet effected my results. You don't net to have lots of greens to fix it up, just cut out all of the foods that are high allergens like wheat and dairy, cut out all of the foods that feed the bad bacteria in your body like sugar and yeast. do this for atleast 6 weeks and then gradually start bringing them back in once you have cleaned out your body.

It works!!!

I was told I have hyperthyroidism and one of my eyes are swollen. I eat alot of sodium in my diet as well as dairy. My doctor never told me that this could possibly be fixed thru diet. So from all that I have read. Eliminate sodium, dairy, and wheat. I am not sure what I need to get at the grocery store to get me back in track. This has been a great source of information. Thanks to all.

I have hyperthyroidism and a benign tumor. 3 years of debilitating energy loss and meditation, yoga and tibetan five rites along with prescribed chinese herbs have helped keep me alive although have not cured me.
I am not prepared to go the western medicine route with surgery and synthetic hormones.
I just started a raw food diet on Nov.5th, including wheatgrass juiced in a regular blender.
It's all I have for now;
does anyone know if I will still get most of the nutritional benefits from the wheatgrass I juice it?

Hello, I am online daily looking for natural ways of helping me with my *Hyperthyroid symptoms. I don't know if anyone on here is willing to talk to me personally to share symptoms and natural remedies we have discovered or learned about. I have found so many websites but haven't found a cure yet. I am currently taking Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar and I believe it's helping. My husband just bought me a fancy blender so I can start juicing. So, now I need to figure out the recipe to make a green drink and how often to do it. I am an amazing student and I love to learn everything I can to help myself. If anyone is interested in talking to me. You can email me - pamelot2000@yahoo.com - Thank you.

although i have been suffering with the symptoms of hyperthyroid for years, one very smart doctor sent me for a blood test and only now hyperthyroid /graves disease has been detected. It was a shock for me as they said i need RAI, i am currently seeing a homeopath who has put me on herbal remedies tyroid 9ch and breckhmans prime 1 adaptogenic anti stress formula. I loved my sweet things as well as savories but since one has to eliminate all salt and sugar, bread from ones diet, what is there left to eat. Please could someone advise me as to what to eat from their experience.
thank you
